This was a good tour of a small distillery. It was informative and our guide was very friendly and engaging. We enjoyed the tasting of both a non-mature and the mature product and the gift of the glasses at the end was lovely. The distillery is easy to get to as it is right in town and the facilities are... If you only do one distillery, this would be a fine choice. Relaxed and friendly, yet in-depth and complete. Above average tasting experience with a variety of spirits available. We used the whisky "pass" which gets one into two dozen distilleries for the price of one. We tried about six of them. This one has a good shop, clean bathrooms,... More

The tour consisted of only a small group which meant you did not struggle to hear the guide or see what was going on. It was very interesting even though we have been on a few distillery tours before as every one is slightly different and the whisky is made differently. We were given a nosing glass to take away... The exhibition hall and the guided tour are well worth visiting. Our guide was a real worker and explained the processes involved in producing a single malt whiskey at a small distillery very clearly. The cask whiskey taste was a new experience.

The gift shop itself has a small range but upstairs is a small exhibition which is very informative. Also there is a tasting bar, which has a number of whiskys. There you can also find the start of the tour that takes you into the heart of the distillery where you get the chance to see, hear and smell elements... More

This was the first time we got to see a distillery in action - all of Oban's product is still made just in the original brewery. Great whisky too!

Ive only been on brewery tours before and not to a distillery but I could tell this was still one of the best. They really try to give you an idea and show you as much as they can. The tour guide didn't know every answer but found out for us. There were about 8 of us on the tour... More

Well worth doing if you are in Oban as the distillery is in the middle of town, a few yards from the harbour. Informative tour with a tasting at the end. The ticket gives you a £3 voucher off a bottle of Oban 14 which makes it £37 to pay.

Tasted four expressions of Oban after a lengthy and informative tour. Oban is a unique distillery in that it is in the center of a town. Therefore it is probably the only distillery you will visit that you don't have to drive to and from. I will say I almost laughed out loud when they warned us to turn off... More

The tour of Oban distillery was uninspiring compared to the other two distilleries we visited on our tour and I don't think it was just because this was our least favourite of the whiskies. The information from the guide was muddled, and in the case of the description of the worm tubs, wrong as the Oban worm tubs have a... More
