Charged at the door for entry to a 'Ceilidh'. The trio on stage were engaged in entertaining a coach trip and demonstrating dances. The first time I have ever had to drink a glass of wine from a plastic tumbler because, "we don't do wine glasses". A place to avoid!!!!!

We wandered in totally spontaneously... and had a great time learning new dances and joining with friendly people we had never met before. They really cared about helping us to learn the dances and we enjoyed casting our inhibitions aside and just having fun. Loved the traditional music and the descriptions of the history of the tunes. So glad we... More

We went to the Skipinnish after reading about it in Rick Steve's books and we were not disappointed. The evening was a mixture of dancing, singing, and bagpipe playing. There were several dances where we got to participate, which was tons of fun. The most interesting part, to me, was at the end of the evning. The Skipinnish Ceilidh House... More

There are few greater pleasurers than to share with local people in their entertainment. It is old fashioned but still great fun and everyone joins in. The musicians and dancers are world class. Absolutely charming.

Went in August as a part of a tour for some Scottish music and dancing. Great band, cheap entrance fee, good atmosphere.

Great band, we bought the CD. Audience participation hilarious, plenty of opportunity to join in, well, at least for us, as we'd been up Ben Nevis on the day we went.............. Would be even better if they served food, although they do allow you to get takeaways. Well worth a visit.

FantasticSkipinnish band...bought the cd. Overwhelmed by the patriotism and good behaviour of the young Scots in the audience. Not enough room to dance comfortably, but great for a listen or some light bruising if you get on your feet. Well recommended.

We booked a ceilidh night here in advance for out visit to Oban, really looking forward to a proper night of ceilidh dancing, as was advertised. That's not what we got though. We got a band who would play a couple of songs, then give us the opportunity to dance. There were, in all, 5 or 6 actual dances, 2... More
