Gang an sands is a fantastic area of beach and rocks. Large car parking area and ideal for walking or making use of the cycle path to Fort William. On five minutes drove from the town centre

Superb beach for dog walking with incredible views out to the Sound of Mull and Loch Linnhe. A shame that, when we went, we found ourselves clearing up flotsam & jetsam, also a pile of broken glass in the sand. Luckily, I don't mind doing this, especially if it means someone else can have a better enjoyment of one of... More

beautiful setting on a good day, lovely walk, however no facilities to eat and drink, housing has taken over most of the area that used to be a pavilion that was buzzing with families during the summer. The beach itself is beautiful when clean

I camped on this beach last year in May, the beach is about an hours walk from Oban, or you can drive. There is a new housing estate built at the entrance, and when we arrived there was a hockey game and rugby game on at the pitches behind the beach. There is public toilets that are clean and free... Visited here in November 2014 whilst staying for a week just south of Oban. We drove into Oban several times during the week and each time we had a drive up to Ganavan, great place to walk with our 3 dogs and easy parking on the large car park overlooking the sands. (No fee out of season) Witnessed one of... More
