Not much to say, just that its one of the best golf courses I ever played...and I did play all Open venues, plus all qualifiers plus another tens of GCs. We made the trip there staying in Ballycastle in Northern Ireland as it was easiest and fastest access, believe it or not. Great weather, great course, fantastic place. A Must... More

Welcome by staff & professional. Adequate soup & sandwiches snack before an enjoyable round on the Pans 9 hole course.Quiet when we were there - weekday afternoon.

Played recently, not for the first time, and still enjoy the challenge of this great course. Played with a local member who imparted some very valuable advice during our round and made the experience even more worth while. Best opening drive anyone will have to experience and worth playing the hole as a par 5 as a visit to the... More

Played the course with three friends on 1st July when the weather was very warm and surprisingly windless. The course wends its way through the dunes and offers very many beautiful views over the beach and sea over to Jura and Islay. It is a challenging yet very enjoyable track. The quality of the greens was disappointing, being very slow... More

Another return to a great golf course. In really good nick and as always a true test of links play. Excellent reception in the pro shop and they have buggies for those like me who don't enjoy the walking. Couldn't have been more helpful in the clubhouse afterwards for drinks and snacks.

Lovely course played in ideal sunny and windless conditions. Beautifully kept. Very challenging with narrow fairways and a great deal of luscious turf to swallow balls. However, I personally didn't think it was value for money. Pricey compared to Macrihanish Dunes which was also good and very friendly.

Played with my wife on a beautiful summers day. The staff in the pro shop were very helpful and friendly. The course is a great challenge and was in great condition. The first tee with a shot over the beach to the fairway is one of the great opening shots in golf. Would highly recommend to anyone.

This course has to be one of the prettiest in Scotland. Compares to Western Gailes and Turnberry for scenery but much less in cost. If you are headed to the Troon area take a ferry to Campbeltown, stay a few nights at the Ardshiel and play here. You will not be disappointed.

Its a hard place to drive to but if you like your links golf and want to play one of the classics this has to be up there in the top 10. If nothing else just go to play the 1st where effectively you have to drive across the Atlantic onto a dog left par 4. Its just brilliant. The... More
