The day we visited Glamis Castle there was light rain, which did not deter us. The grounds are extensive and very beautiful and naturally well maintained. To enter the castle you need to go through a gift shop, which is a great strategy as they have an upstairs and downstairs area with different gifts available. It's also very good if... More

I really enjoyed our visit to Glamis. I was always a fan of the Queen Mother, a real class act with spirit. This is where she grew up and was courted by the future king, Elizabeth's father. It is a real castle with plenty of reminders of its origins but it is also a cozy home. The guided tour was... More

I was very pleased to visit Glamis and have a guided tour, which was paid for as part of my Lochs and Gens coach trip. I love Scotland and the history of this great building was very very interesting, and I had a great afternoon. I am very much a castle person first and grounds if I have time. We... More

Glamis castle is worth taking time to visit. There are around 10 rooms I think, maybe 12 that you can view. Some of the rooms are really nice. It cost between £10 - £13 for an adult ticket, that giving access to the castle, grounds, exhibits and a place in the guided tour group. The castle tour starts every 30... More

My wife and I have visited dozens of castles over the past twenty years, but Glamis Castle may be the best total experience we have ever had. The drive onto the grounds is impressive, the Castle is striking, and the guided tour informative and entertaining. Our guide (Angus?) was well-spoken, knowledgeable, and attentive to everyone in our group of 25... More

Having grown up in Angus this was my third visit to the castle and while not much changes I find it fantastic! Whenever we have guests we take them to see this great feature and they always enjoy it, from the local history, scenery, ghost stories to a nice cuppy in the tea room after!

Yet another hefty entrance fee - but what a surprise to learn that the guided tour is included !!!! Very good and witty with just the right amount of information. Beautiful place and well worth a detour if you are in the area.

A little on the expensive side, but a lovely tour of the rooms (you can't just go round on your own) gardens nice and highland cows too! Good picnic tables so you can bring your own food.

We visited Glamis Castle as a part of Classic Car extravaganza event last summer. We were looking forward to see this beautiful castle and our little boy (3.5 years old) was instantly drawn by the impressive exterior. Once we purchased tickets, we had to wait for the start of the tour to see the interiors (about 20 other people were... More

In my opinion it was better than Edinburgh Castle. Although you can't take pictures inside. The memories will last a lifetime
