I loved this castle! You can only visit the it with a guided tour, but it's so much more interesting than to walk around alone... It is a place of history and as every Scottish castle it has a ghost story! I recommend it with all my heart!

I wanted to visit Glamis, since I have an interest in Royal history and biography. We visited both for the castle and the fantastic Highland games. The tour of the castle was extensive and the history given in detail by the guide, showing us many rooms used by the Royals. The games were exciting and a true example of Scottish culture. Proud to... More

Great welcome at the ticket kiosk and excellent tour by an very enthusiastic guide. House is exceptionally well presented and not at all 'stuffy'. I didn't bring my children on this visit, but would have no hesitation in doing so.

Visited Glamis Castle on a beautiful (if rare) warm and sunny day and enjoyed this magnificent castle at its very best. A guided tour is obligatory but very informative. The staff are all ultra friendly. The restaurant is fab, the gift shop very tasteful and the grounds are amazing. In retrospect, I wish I'd taken a picnic to enjoy in... More

Glamis Castle was the childhood home of HM Queen Elizabeth and the Queen Mother. We found it much more beautiful than Balmoral Castle in Scotland, where she still spends time with her family in the summer months. It has been home to the Earls of Strathmore for more than 600 years and the familly continues with the 18th Earl of... More

I found the tour of the caste very interesing. Having climbed quite a few stairs it was nice to be invited to sit down on seats that were part of the history of the castle. The cafe serves lovely food at reasonable prices. The grounds were beautifuI. I have attended many concerts which are held in August and found the... More

Amazing castle where the Queen Mum grew up. The tour was informative and the rooms were beautifully decorated. Great day trip from Dundee.

Lots of history in this grand castle. Tours led by guides who tell that history, giving you time to enjoy the rooms and ask questions before moving on. Enjoyed the ghost stories and the references to the Queen Mother particularly. The estate is huge; our GPS first took us to the private gate and we drove around the estate walls... More
