We loved the visit. it's a guided tour. Lots of older folk with sticks on the tour so I fitted right in. Plenty of castle stairs though. You need to be mobile with a stick. Tour probably less than an hour so perfect for me. it has very clean toilets kept up all day long. Lots of Queen mother history... More

Got a voucher from itison to come here and it was well worth it The castle is stunning and the tour really informative. The tour takes you round the inside of the castle but please note that there is lots of walking up and down stairs and some of the rooms are pretty cold. We also had lunch in the... More

This castle - still the home of the Bowes Lyon family, is literally a house full of history and treasures. Would recommend this over Balmoral as there is more to see in the castle itself. Fantastic portraits of historic figures and a beautiful chapel where the family still celebrate christenings and weddings.Beautiful setting - lovely gift shops and tearoom (home... More

We took the guided tour of this lovely house which is full of wonderful paintings and furniture. Tours are well organised and informative. Nice café. The gardens are beautiful and tranquil - we saw deer and red squirrels. Lovely Italian garden.

We visited at the end of May on a beautiful sunny afternoon. The gardens were lovely. The walled garden is at a very early stage of development though. The House itself is a rather typical large stately home, opulent in parts and with an obvious interesting history. Pretty expensive though for what you see and to be honest nothing really remarkable.

Access to 10 rooms makes this a much better visit than Balmoral, especially if you are looking for indoor activities. Its the Bowes Lyon dynasty home and full of interest and history.Guided tour was excellent and is recommended.Ceramics, glassware and decorations were exceptional.

Had a wonderful visit. Picturesque gardens to stroll through. Tranquil forest walking trails. Nice little cafe for refreshments. There were only a few rooms in the castle open for viewing, but you can stroll at your own pace. It was great to be able to climb to the top of one of the towers and get a photo of the... More

We took a day trip to the Castle as we had not been there many years. It was very interesting and very well organised. All tours of the castle take the form of guided tours and our guide was very knowledgeable and very entertaining. It was a thoroughly enjoyable day. After the visit we took a trip into Forfar a... We went this week as part of a 2 day trip to see both Glamis & Balmoral. The entry price is £11 which includes a very comprehensive tour and lasts about an hour. We felt this was great value for money & more informative than walking around on your own. During the tour though I would have liked a bit... More

We really enjoyed our tour go Glamis castle. Our guide Carolyn was very informative and spoke in a clear voice. Sometime difficult with people on the tour talking throughout.
