My wife and I have visited dozens of castles over the past twenty years, but Glamis Castle may be the best total experience we have ever had. The drive onto the grounds is impressive, the Castle is striking, and the guided tour informative and entertaining. Our guide (Angus?) was well-spoken, knowledgeable, and attentive to everyone in our group of 25... More

Having grown up in Angus this was my third visit to the castle and while not much changes I find it fantastic! Whenever we have guests we take them to see this great feature and they always enjoy it, from the local history, scenery, ghost stories to a nice cuppy in the tea room after!

Yet another hefty entrance fee - but what a surprise to learn that the guided tour is included !!!! Very good and witty with just the right amount of information. Beautiful place and well worth a detour if you are in the area.

A little on the expensive side, but a lovely tour of the rooms (you can't just go round on your own) gardens nice and highland cows too! Good picnic tables so you can bring your own food.

We visited Glamis Castle as a part of Classic Car extravaganza event last summer. We were looking forward to see this beautiful castle and our little boy (3.5 years old) was instantly drawn by the impressive exterior. Once we purchased tickets, we had to wait for the start of the tour to see the interiors (about 20 other people were... More

In my opinion it was better than Edinburgh Castle. Although you can't take pictures inside. The memories will last a lifetime

Beautiful castle, both outside and inside, full of history. Well-informed guided tour with 2 small museum rooms at the end (though we weren't told about the second one and found it by luck!). Lovely grounds and gardens (with well-labeled trees & plants) - the walled garden is being re-developed and it will be interesting to go back and see progress....

In this castle a guided tour was part of the fee, and which required about one hour. Particularly the ceilings were spectacular. The explanations by the tour guides made it very interesting, while you ca look around, but also info cards were available. Pity no picture were allowed and no good pictures were available from a website.

I loved the castle and the tour. I usually prefer a self guided tour so I can take my time looking at the things I am most interested in seeing. Before whisking you off to the next room, this tour allowed you to wander the room after the guide finished pointing out items and giving a bit of history. The... More
