We visited Glamis in November 2015. The castle can be only entered with tour. So it is wise to check the timetable beforehand. The tour was really informative and we got to know interesting facts as well as stories from the castle's ghosts. Tour lasts around an hour. Castle is really worth of visiting!

Glamis Castle the childhood home of Queen Elizabeth II, and family home of the queen mother, has a very interesting history and offers visitors a chance to gain a close connection to the Queen. The castle has exquisite and well maintained furnishings throughout, you could spend hours in each room taking in each object. The tour guide was excellent and... More

Shakespeare inspired this visit. Fairytale beautiful. Lovely gardens. Great architecture. Rich and famous history. The trip to Glamis and this visit worth the effort.

We went to Glamis castle because of the link to Shakespeare's "Macbeth" and the potential to encounter a ghost. Other than feeling a slight chill when entering the old family chapel, we didn't encounter a ghost. Nevertheless, it was an informative tour with references to "Macbeth" and the grounds are also lovely.

Lovely place to visit in Angus. The tour of Glamis Castle is very interesting and informative, especially the strong connection to the Queen Mother. There is so much history in this castle, and it's believed a lot of rooms still haven't been discovered! The gardens are also tremendous to walk around- a vast range of trees, plants, and shrubs. On... More

What a lovely location for a Christmas Market. There was quite a few stalls and lots of places to have your hot chocolate and marshmallows - obligatory at these events. I expected more stalls if I'm honest but it was a great day out. I personally loved the St Bernards that were there, they were soooo cute.

Such an imposing castle when you drive into the estate! It's a very impressive family home and you see a number of rooms within the castle, several that are still used by the family! Our young charming guide was most interesting and extremely passionate about the family and their history. Fantastic seeing The Queen Mothers quarters and personal knick-knacks. I... More

Although we have lived in Scotland (Fife) all our lives, we're no spring chickens, my fiancee and I had never visited Glamis Castle. We wish we had as it is wonderful and there is so much to see we went three times. First there is a guided tour of the castle with much to see and many years of interesting... More
