We visited on a dismal Friday morning in August. We strolled the pooch in the grounds before doing 'the tour'. The castle is clearly one of the hot spots on the tourist route and people were arriving by the car and coachload. Tour staff were extremely efficient (as I suppose they have to be working in such a busy Scottish... More

A very pleasant afternoon visiting Glamis Castle. The staff were all very helpful about parking, admission and most especially the guided tour around the castle - which takes about an hour. The tea room is a very pleasant venue, though we only had a cup of tea late in the afternoon. The garden looked very inviting, but we only looked... More

It is really a beautiful castle but relatively recent. The outside of the castle is very nice with huge gardens and highland cows (I love that cows...) The inside visit is quite short because it is a private residence actually in use. This is the reason why you can't take photographs inside the castle.

Me (aged 45) and my daughter (aged 16) and my Dad (aged 75) - we were amazed at the grounds and the look of this building it was very impressive. You are not permitted to take any photos inside the castle while you are on the tour but you are allowed to take them of the grounds and the building... More

On tour in Scotland and arranged a day to Glamis Castle with friends The guide was excellent and the tour was very interesting. Not too big, not very commercial unlike a lot of stately homes, quietly understated in a way and much better for it, makes Harewood Castle look very 'plastic'.

Glamis Castle is a fantastic place to visit. It gives you such an interesting and vivid impression of how people have lived or still live in here. To drink tea in the hall with high ceilings, is also a special thing to do, it's a lovely atmosphere. There is also a possibility to wander around the park/garden, which is nice... More

Thoroughly enjoyed this day out. The castle is amazing and our tour guide was brilliant at keeping the children engaged. The ground, like the castle, is stunning. I would totally recommend this to anyone who likes castles and royal history.

I'll be honest we visited Glamis castle to kill some time but couldn't have been happier with the visit experience. Helpful, informative guides and staff in general, scrumptious coffee shop and a gift shop experience that if unchecked could have turned into a impromptu shopping spree. The castle itself is beautiful and interesting, well worth a visit. Something for everyone... More
