We played 5 courses on our trip the first week of October 2015. Carnoustie was the favorite of most of our group. Challenging in it's own unique way if you hit it straight you should score ok. Wind made the day feel like Scotland. The only day of sunshine this week we all loved our day at Carnoustie. Use a... More

We live in Scotland, are avid golfers, and had been looking forward to playing Carnoustie for a long time. Quite expensive but not compared to other Open Championship standard courses, particularly in England and US. All staff very friendly and encouraging. We had 12 holes in the dry then the weather turned, severely! Nonetheless, this was a really memorable round... More

A course that was on my must play list and it lived up and to and exceeded my expectations. the course is world class and the greens are to die for. All the staff at both the course and the hotel were brilliant and added immeasurably to a truly fantastic experience!

Just back from the annual Craws Nest Tassie trip and as usual it was all superb - even the weather which still seems odd even though the good seems to outweigh the extreme bad in my experience. Missed the familiarity and tradition of the Burnside and not so keen on the Buddon - yet anyway !? Championship (although tees silly... More

3 days of golf on the Carnoustie links challenges the very best. Recent improvements to the Budden course have been effective and raised it to a good course in its own right. My favourite is the Burnside course because you can see al the course in front of you. While the Championship course is undoubtedly excellent, it is set up... More

The Buddon links course is a nice well laid out course for those that do not want to play or pay for the Championship Course experience. However, part of the back nine runs parallel to a shooting range. I have some friends that have PTSD that would have had very hard time with the shooting going on next to them

I know that Carnoustie isn't always regarded as a links course because of the trees, but I know I've been to many beaches in my time with a backdrop of pine trees so I don't agree. The Buddon course has been developed and is now much more of a challenge, although the back 9 with most changes is different to... More

Good old links Golf on both courses. I'm a high handicapper but still enjoyed the challenges that both well layed out courses provide. Wind was up both days but very sunny, warm and dry so good time had by all on our outing.

Side trip while visiting St. Andrews for the British Open, less than an hour north. Beautiful links course with the 2nd Oldest Golf Shop in the World.
