I found most of Scotland to be wet and windy. So I guess I shouldn't have expected any different for Carnoustie. I did however enjoy the course and the entire experience. The caddies were most helpful and no one can control the weather. I really enjoyed navigating through and around all the burns on 17 and 18.

Tough, windy Links golf. This is exactly what I was expecting and I was not disappointed. Eight of us played and managed to plot our way round in the wind and scored fairly well. If you are in the bunker on any hole, you may as well pick up and move to the next tee! Really tough when you play... More

3 golf courses make up the links, all of which present their own challenges. For the brave at heart who do not mind their golf egos destroyed then it must be the Championship...host to the 2018 Open. The other two courses are a bit shorter but demanding. The Barry Budden burn is a strong hazard on the Burnside, whilst the... More

Have played in the Tassie golf tournament several times.....and it is an absoluted privilege to take part. Both courses are immaculately presented, the officials are brilliant and the locals and so welcoming Anyone who wants to moan about this course needs to give their head a serious wobble.......have played on several open championship courses, and this is the toughest and... My Dad (Ex-Pro) and myself (County level) played the champ course and found the front 9 fairly simple, and back 9 much more challenging, shooting 77 and 74 respectively. Having booked online a 2ball and confirming our booking with the professional via phone, we were informed on the 1st tee we'd be with another couple... I'm sorry but none of... More

there're no more superlatives i can add to those of prior reviewers of the Championship (Medal) course. rather this is to encourage those visitors who have the time, to play the Burnside. it's a lot tougher than the usual 5,900 yard course, and is an unstrenuous 3 1/4 - 3 3/4 hour walk. excellent condition, and beautiful in the spring... Thank you for taking the time to review the Burnside. So glad you enjoyed the fine test that it is. The new holes on the Buddon Links also makes that every bit as special and it is good to see players taking advantage of the 2 or 3 course deals More

Let me get this out of the way. It is hard. Harder than anywhere I've ever played. I've never been in so many bunkers. And if you are in a bunker, you add a stroke, period. Maybe more. But the place is fantastic. Gorse was in full bloom, and the wind was blowing, but no rain. Great local caddies. The... More

Arrived on 25th May for a 3 day golfing break. From start to finish it was an absolute pleasure the staff at the hotel couldn't have been more helpful. The room overlooking the 18th green just made the holiday. Room very clean and tidy facilities superb and after a round of golf the jacuzzi was a welcome sight. The food... More
