Once a year, for 80 years, these gardens have been opened to the public in benefit of charity. we spent the afternoon here on Scotlands garden scheme on the 31 st May 2014. The rhododendrons were spectacular in size as well as colour. What a wonderful day we spent at this grand castle set in the country. The river nearby set off the estate with wonderful mature trees in great variety in the parkland. We went to the open day on Sunday 5th June, it cost £5 per adult to go into the grounds and we received one cheap photocopy of a map between us. But fair enough, we got to park and could wander around the gardens at leisure, though it was bitter cold weather which spoiled it. What was a rip off... More
