My son (aged 5) is fascinated by foghorns and lighthouses so Easter holidays and the requirement for Daddy day care whilst Mum was at work provided the ideal excuse to visit! Accompanied by his sister (aged 7) we arrived just after 10:30 and were in luck as there was a kids craft event available (I had seen it advertised on... More

Saw the road sign and dropped in to the museum 'for something to do'. Ended up spending several hours at the museum. An hour was spent on touring the lighthouse and former living quarters - Michael made the tour extremely interesting and informative. Entry fee was only £6, I've been to places charging a lot more and offering a lot... More

If you don't know of the contribution made to maritime safety by the Scots, and specifically the Stevenson family, then this is definitely a must-see stop for you! A very well assembled history of the development and spread of lighthouses around the world, lead from this remote corner of Britain by the Scottish. Be sure to join a guided tour... More

It was very interesting with a trip up to the top of the original light house if we did have a negative comment it would be the first audio visual which was so fast it was impossible to see on the screen what was being talked about

Took a tour with the lighthouses museum ticket - had a great time. The tour included going into the old lighthouse that is based on a castle, and a nice story.

With some examples of lights and other lighthouse related items. We also did the tour which we definitely recommend. It has a coffee shop with a stunning view but a poor coffee.

Hi Alina, Thank you for your review, and we're glad you enjoyed the tour! We are very sorry that you did not enjoy your coffee and we cannot understand how that could happen. The museum is very well laid out for you to see all the artefacts they have. Also, the staff are very knowledgeable and help with any questions you may have. We had a lovely lunch in the small cafe, with large windows looking out onto the North Sea.
