It'd been quite a while since my last visit, but with my memory refreshed, the front nine IS one of the best front nines in links golf. Only by comparison does the back nine suffer - it's still darn good. Royal Aberdeen is a must for any golf trip to northern Scotland! M

This is one of the finest links courses - and one of the finest course in the world - that you can find. It isn't inexpensive, but worth every penny. The reception made us feel very welcome, with use of the ample facilities. The clubhouse has good food, and better views from the windows. The course is simply fantastic, with... More

From the moment you arrive on the car-park you feel this will be special, from the greeting and advice from the pro to the atmosphere and food in the clubhouse to the amazing test of golf The course is tough with many fairway and green side bunkers but an absolutely top quality test of golf, too many signature holes to mention... Best played in calm weather. A challenge for the higher handicap golfers. Wonderful condition and well worth playing. Can be difficult to get to at peak traffic hours.

Great course. The front nine is great. Lots of blind shots towards what appear to be sand dunes. Then you arrive at the ball and you are in a green valley between the dunes. The back nine is against the wind and a tough way home. Loved it but not for the faint hearted.

It was a windy day and a little drizzle to add to the insult. This made the course even more challenging. The course is a typical links course with rather narrow fairways and deadly grouse every which way. Of course it goes without saying you have to avoid the nasty pot bunkers. Some you can see and some you find... More
