The park has undergone a full restoration trying to return it to near its original design. It has been done beautifully; placards give a history of each part and how the restoration was planned and carried. It is a truly beautiful open space. There is a boating pond with pedaloes, but I have been told that they are very expensive... More

my son loves the park and the play areas. so good to have the cafe and ice cream bit opened up again. always packed on the sunny days. only downside is in the summer when you cant use half the grass cos of the cricketers. surely there is cricket clubs for them to use instead of our lovely green outdoor... The park is great for walks when the sun is out and when it rains (quite often) there are the Welch Winter Gardens to visit (pity there are so few id labels on the plants). The recent refurbishment to the original Victorian setting has seen many of the flower beds disappear along with the beautiful rose covered hill, now just... More

Been going since little... Somewhere good for young and old alike... Nice walk around the park grounds.... Winter gardens nice for a walk around colourful and nice smells good for the unexpected rain showers... Great newly built wooden play park good for all ages along with a smaller park for the younger ones... A generally great couple hours especially for... More

Winter garden (glasshouses) is very pleasant, and a nice place to spend an hour or two. Park itself is a bit boring. Excellent for kids, lots of lawn to run round on, boating lake, playground.

I've been going to this park since I was little, and I love to take my son here when I come up and visit my family. I love that the park still has the big slide, but also that they have added more to the park for kids to have more fun. Its a fantastic place to go in the... More

Very much enjoyed our visit to the park and the winter gardens. The park is well maintained and has play areas for the children & a wee boating pond etc. Lots of open space for a picnic, which is what we should have done! Instead, we visited the cafe which was a shambles. After sitting for some time, I went... More

spent a good few hours in the park, strolling round the boating lake and stopped at café for coffee. as it was a glorious day, people were sunbathing on the large area of grass in the middle. plenty for kids to do with a couple of swing parks to suit children of various ages.
