My wife and I (both elderly), visited this place for the first time. Very friendly staff and lots of hands on exhibits. I know you could be round it in a half hour but we took our time and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Live demonstrations and a small planetarium. Rounded it off with a bowl of soup at the cafe.... I was pretty disappointed with the dated displays that appear to have been randomly strewn about a room. Many weren't working and all seemed old and tatty. A lot of the information and instructions were faded, lop sided, laminated a4 sheets and the others were in dark areas that were difficult to read. Generally speaking the whole thing had a... More

Great place to take kids- lots of very informative, fun ways to learn about science without being a bit too much. The price was also very good value considering the prices some places charge in Aberdeen.

This is a great place to take young kids if it's wet outside. Taking them here should keep them entertained and there are live demonstrations which they can also get involved in

It's a great way to spend a few hours and keeps kids entertained whilst educating and stimulating their brains. Lots of different workshops on through out the holidays suitable for all ages. The cafe has got good food but it is spoilt a bit because staff are a wee bit unorganised. We enjoyed the overall visit and would go back... More

Took the kids for a treat before heading back to school but we were all left pretty disappointed after our day out. The exhibitions are very tired looking (some haven't changed in 10+ years) and don't draw you into them, the instructions (if there was enough light to read them!!) were rather vague for some and we found many of... It's worth mentioning from the start that we only made the 60+mile journey to the centre because we had an Itison voucher. For £8 we got 2 adults & 2 children which is great value for money. On first arriving we were met by a very enthusiastic attendant and we were prepared for that kind of high energy inside. Instead... More

Took my granddaughter, who is nearly 6. I haven't been for around 10 years. To be honest, would have expected a few more modern exhibits. Many are very tired. Computer based activities didn't work. Was unable to take her into observatory, it appeared to be reserved for large groups only. Hard to read instructions for some activities due to poor... More

On holiday in Scotland I decided to have a day in Aberdeen with my three grand-children (7,9, and 11) so where do you go when the weather is so unpredictable? My son suggested the Satrosphere Science Centre and what an excellent idea as the moment we walked through the doors the children were engrossed with the numerous hands-on exhibits. The... More
