I love this castle. It's like a fairy castle and can look pink in certain lights. Nice walk around the gardens.

Not a history buff, but as a member of national trust entry was free, tour was with a guide which we thought would be boring, however guide was very informative which was very helpful rather than wandering about aimlessly. Lovely castle in wonderful setting, well worth a visit, some nice walks around castle grounds.

This is probably one of the most beautiful castles straight out of a fairy story. It not signed very well and the GPS took us about four miles away and we had more or less given up on finding it when we found th brown sign! Lots of opportunity to photograph from the outside and you don't need to pay... More

Pretty pink castle that was actually used by Disney for the model of the Disney castle. Beautiful grounds

In fairness, my wife and I are not history buffs. The castle looks awesome from the outside but I was bored with the interior. If you love Scottish history then it is probably worth paying to do the tour. I regretted the tour simply because I didn't understand the history and it was expensive for a quick stroll through an... We ventured to craigievar castle as we are members of NTS so get free entry . The rain was just easing off and the thick mist lifting when we arrived at 2pm. The pink castle walls were drying out too. The young tour guide was excellent , full of knowledge and enthusiasm for the castle that she'd grown up near.... More

One of the most beautiful castles imaginable, set in glorious countryside with rolling hills and a great feeling of wide open spaces - a lovely drive to get here. Guided tours are compulsory which I normally dislike, but this is understandable here as the rooms are small and some staircases very narrow, especially going up to the roof. Rona was... More

Be careful of the hours for the castle as I found something online that said they open at 9, but they don't actually open till 11. Luckily there's a hiking trail right there so I did that to kill time before they opened. The tour is definitely worth it and it's certainly worth stopping in here.

What an amazing castle, so much history. Fantastic guide that should us round with lots of stories to tell. Would have went on one of the walk but was raining. Good to hear the family still have an interest
