So Cute and Pink!

We didn't get a chance to tour the castle as it was to late, but we just had to stop and take some pics because lets face it...it's pink!

The best way to really enjoy a visit to Craigievar Castle is to mentally step Back in Time for the Castle then get your coat on (or not if its sunny) and get out and enjoy the beautiful Surroundings. Aberdeenshire countryside and scenery at its best

We visited several palaces and castles during our visit to Scotland in September, and Craigievar was by far the most memorable, both for its history and for the efforts taken to preserve the personality of the families and individuals who resided there across the centuries. It's a must for castle goers!

Beautiful castle set in a great setting and surroundings. Beautiful garden and area ad views of the grounds. Great tour inside from the staff who were very informative with the history of the castle and the family story of the castle

Scottish castles look so different from English castles, and this is my favourite scottish one, not far from Alford. It really looks like the famous Walt Disney castle and it is believed that Craigievar was his inspiration. Beautiful views from the castle over Donside.

We arrived on a cold, grey day, but this castle still managed to shine! The gardens are well laid out and not muddy, so we enjoyed our walk around them The national Trust staff were all very helpful. We didn't have time to go into the castle.

I'm presuming that this would have been an awesome venue to tour, but, much to our disappointment, it was prematurely closed upon our arrival. We weren't alone in our dismay, as there were many people who had shown up to tour it on one of the last days that it was scheduled to be open. I had checked the website... More

The castle itself is quite a sight - being pink!!! The grounds are very lovely as well. Even though it closed towards the end of September, it was still a worthwhile visit as you can get s good feel for it (you can walk right up to it and all around the grounds).

We visited Craigievar Castle during a holiday to Scotland. Unfortunately the castle was closed when we visited so we could not go inside (midweek in late September) but we knew this would be the case from the website. It was still a fabulous afternoon viewing the castle from the outside and walking around the beautiful grounds.
