This is in no way a criticism; simply an observation because there is a limited amount of electricity supplied to Craigievar Castle (therefore no café for visitors) and the rooms open to the public can get very cold. Nevertheless this did not detract from our tour with the excellent Angus as our knowledgeable host. Tours are guided so there may... More

worth the journey to visit this castle. It is an excellent guided tour. Our guide was one of the longest serving guides and very knowledgeable about the castle. We had a great tour, and learnt a lot. Sadly because of all the steps involved in the tour, I don't think this castle is suitable for less mobile people.

It was a most interesting experience to visit this beautiful castle. Our guide Angus was very knowledgeable and involved the children in his talk too making it a visit we will all remember with great pleasure.

Haven't been here for ages as it has been closed for renovation. Well worth it though not enough visitors so go there whilst it's quite and be allowed up on the roof.

I loved my visit to Craigievar. There are only guided tours around the inside of the castle, and our guide Angus (he was very good) took us on a 45 minute tour. Lots of stairs though, and they do get quite narrow up at the top, so not good if heights aren't your thing. But what a lovely pink castle!

We were perhaps fortunate to have a well informed guide on this tour. Having a small party probably helped. The cost is not cheap but well worth it.

I've always wanted to come here and finally visited on 24th April. What an absolutely stunning castle this is - the grounds as well as the castle itself looked amazing in the beautiful spring sunshine. We took a tour as we are NTS members - our guide, Rona, was very informative and pleasant and made it thoroughly enjoyable tour. The... More

The castle has guided tours. Maybe we were lucky because our guide was very good. A little nervous but she certainly hit all of the right historical notes. The tour is over three or maybe more floors - all up and down a spiral staircase so not for those with walking or mobility difficulties. Don't let that stop you from... More

what a beautiful castle. The sun was shiining which made it look even more beautiful. Our guide was Evelyn and she was brilliant, very knowledgeable and ready to answer any questions my friend and I had. Would certainly recommend this day out to anyone. There are lovely walks as well.

We did a wee visit past the castle and grounds. Unfortunately the castle wasn't open for tours but even just walking round the grounds and seeing the castle was enjoyable. Look up the castle's website to see when the tours are available. Recommend going even if the castle isn't open!
