The outside of the Castle makes this look straight out of a Fairy Tale. It has even got stone cannons. Owned by National Trust for Scotland you have escorted tours around the castle every 15 mins taking about 45 minutes. Interesting furniture and pictures. There is both a priests room and a priest hole. Well worth a visit. Part of... More

My husband, I and friends of us visited this beautiful and "small" castle near Aberdeen. We have an included tour guide of the entire castle, all the rooms and the history of it. It is a fairytale castle, pink, with a great garden..lovely!! Is an attraction not to be missed!

Although I had to wait for the guided tour it was very worthwhile. The tour guide (Fiona) was very pleasant. She kept the tour interesting and added a few funny extra quips. All the staff at the castle were very attentive and made it a very enjoyable visit. Highly recommend.

Apparently this pink castle was used as a model by Disney but inside is more interesting especially as there are a lot of artefacts belonging to the family who owned it.The guide was friendly and informative even letting us in on some of the shennanigans that the laird may have got up to with a maid in the 1920s! We enjoyed a wonderful afternoon at Craigievar Castle. The tour was very well done and covered much of the castle. I wish it would have included the kitchen and dining areas, but most everywhere else was. The grounds are just stunning and there are lots of trails you can hike around. The trails alone are worth the visit, even if... More

Craigievar sits on the side of a hill and draws the eye from the main road. Even more spectacular now it has been reharled in pink lime based harling. Inside and out it has been little touched since it was altered in 1610 to 1620 by Danzig Wiilie Forbes. Sadly the poor state of the roof 200 years ago meant... More

Such a pretty little castle. With homely rooms that made me want to move right in and kick off my shoes among the tartan sofas and antlers. The stairs are steep and skinny, and not for the faint hearted as the tour is guided for good reason. Our young guide himself offered a good yarn suitable for a variety of... More

The Pink Castle, which it is said inspired Walt Disney, stands in beautiful Cairngorm foothills and the drive there is a treat in itself. My guide, John, had an encyclopaedic knowledge of the building, it's contents, which are eclectic, and the fascinating family. The climb to the top is breathtaking in all senses but so worthwhile. There is no cafe... More

Visited this lovely National Trust property ,didn't do the tour as the stairs are very steep and didn't think I'd make it to the top.The staff in gift shop were very friendly and helpful.
