Stunning Castle with lots to see and do, lots of rooms to walk around and learn the history of. The guides are very well educated on the castle, so ask questions, they usually have the answer. Unlike a lot of castle's in Scotland, this one is in great repair, although some work was being carried out on our visit!

Despite growing up less than 20 miles away from Craigievar Castle, I hadn't visited it until recently. I was pleasantly surprised to find that tours are led round the castle (as other castles I have visited are self-guided) and seem to go quite frequently. We only had to wait about 5 minutes after checking in for a tour to start.... More

Truly outstanding casle, one of many, of course, in the North east of bonnie Scotland. It is very distinctive and the surrounding area is lovely too.

My family and I just finished the guided tour of Craigievar Castle and have nothing but good things to say about it. Not only is the castle in great repair, the vast majority of rooms are open to the public. I should also mention that the guide providing the tour did a great job. My entire family enjoyed the tour,... More

This is the most beautiful castle I have ever seen and I took hundreds of pictures of it. Unfortunately we visited on a Wednesday and it was closed. We were able to walk to the castle and enjoy the beautiful views around it. FYI its closed on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Anyway we were not all that disappointed that the castle... More

It took us a while to find this place - but boy was it worth the effort. This is a funky little - guy-style castle that reeks of history. Its also beautiful. As mentioned by others the tour guide was fantastic as well. Don't miss this!! FYI - tons of small stairs so be prepared.

this is interestingly shaped castle that does not look like any other. We have only seen it from the outside, but they also offer guided tours to see the place inside, the guides did sound very enthusiastic and welcoming, so I am sure the visit would have been interesting, should not have we been put off by £10 fee :)

Not my view, the title, but the firm belief of our excellent guide! In terms of the basic structure, he may well be right as the extension was to build several extra stories on the top of the old structure leaving the original tower castle largely unchanged. There are a LOT of steep winding steps, which are taken on the... More

My wife and I visited in May and took note of a tripadvisor member and wore a warm coat. The guided tour giver by Angus was informative.
