We had a day off walking so decided to visit the speyside cooperage. This is a tour worth doing. Very interesting and you saw the coopers at work. There was a lovely cafe and souvenir shop on site.

Stopped off here yesterday after a few hours travelling with the hope of a tour and a bite to eat. Went to the gift shop and coffee shop first-what a disappointment-a few bought in less-than-fresh tray bakes and pre-packaged sandwiches!! A real embarrassment to all the tourists!! Shame, as staff were so nice and the tour was great!

If you are interested in seeing skilled craftsmen working very fast, then the Speyside Cooperage is well worth a call. There is a good introductory series of display panels, and an informative video. However, the highlight is the mezzanine overlooking the factory floor, from which you can see the coopers at work - and since they are paid according to...

Make sure you make this part of any Whisky tour. Ideally you would do a tour in the AM, go to the Cooperage and do that tour. Get some lunch and do one final tour before you head out of town. The tour is informative and fun, and the grounds are beautiful. If you can get your picture taken next...

Stopped by the Cooperage after a day in Dufftown. Signs clearly state that they are open until 4pm with the last tour at 3:30pm. We arrived at 3:20pm and all the doors to the visitor centre were locked and the chap inside just shook his head. A poor show.

my second visit to the cooperage, this time with a group of 6th-year students from Bavaria. Even the most blasé teenagers were fascinated, and all were thrilled that they managed to make a small cask! Definitely worth visiting!

We followed up a visit to a distillery by visiting the cooperage. It was fascinating to watch the coopers working at breakneck speed repairing bourbon barrels from the US and making them suitable for maturing scotch whiskey. Great value for money at 3.5 quid for the tour! Nice gift shop and wonderfully maintained grounds.

There is an entrance fee, but this was worth the money. The video is very informative into the making and refurbishing of the casks, as well as all the history behind the craft. There is an large viewing area where you can watch the craftsman hard at work (and they DO work hard!). The guide was very personable and very...

You really dont know how much work goes into making a cask until you've visited the Cooperage. Such a fab place to visit and the £3.30 fee was value for money. Really interesting film and nice to watch the men at work. The chairs outside the tea room were fab - if only we lived closer to buy some!

The Scotch whisky experience shouldn't be complete without a visit to the only working cooperage in the UK. There is an interesting film, and someone to answer all your questions. You can take all the time you want, watching the coopers at work. You can see every part of the process, safely, from glass walled corridors installed above the factory...
