Owner description: Peadar O'Donnels, the home of Live traditional & contemporary music in Derry. On our premises we have 3 different bars – Peadar O’Donnells, the Gweedore Bar and Gweedore Upstairs. Peadars is known throughout the world and is a must visit location for the many tourists that flock to Derry in ever increasing numbers. We are famous for, among other things, our live music which is largely organised but has regular impromptu sessions from either local musicians or visiting performers. Whichever of our bars you would like to visit, you are guaranteed a warm welcome, a good time and the best pint of Guinness in Derry!

Seems to be a popular spot. It was packed but some kind locals made room at a table. Drinks came quickly. The bar has lots of random stuff hanging all over, which gives it a lot of character.

You can't go wrong with visit to Peadar O'Donnells Bar. We were recommended by a patron at Badgers. They pour a good pint and provide local entertainment. Sit outside or inside at the bar. Really cool place if you're looking for a traditional Irish bar experience.

We visited Peadar O'Donnells for one pub evening at the recommendations of Eli at the Abbey B&B. We were not disappointed. Stayed til close and walked home- very satisfied having a taste of true Irish Pub Music washed down with a few Guinesses. The Barman was one of the most efficient I have ever seen and took time to have... More

There needs to be more stars when rating this place. Amazing does not even cover it. Just back home from a 2 week holiday to Derry and me and the girls were there nearly every night. BEST pub EVER! Loved the atmosphere, drinks, people, bartenders, security workers, and awesome live Irish music that was performed nightly. Even meeting the owner... More

From the staff to the local patrons, this bar is a winner. We stayed in Derry for 2wks with frequent visits to Peadar's and experienced it from quiet to crazy. This is the kind of pub you see in the minds eye when someone describes a pub to you in Ireland with beer glasses full of the finest stout and... More

A real Irish pub, real irish music, real irish people. Lot of people inside, normally, but it's impossible stay out! Rebel songs, pint of beer, perfect evening!

We had an enjoyable monday night. A traditional band played with a good female singer but the music was a bit sad.The drinks were not overpriced and as far as I could tell it was all a local clientele, I presume from the Bogside, all lovely people. I loved the Australian flag with the union jack part replaced with a... More

Visited recently on a Thursday in March which appeared not to be the high season in Derry, to say the least, but enjoyed our drink at Peadar O'Donnells. Really interesting decor; note the many separatist and resistance group flags (Quebecois, Basque, etc) hanging from the ceiling - definitely carries some interesting weight in this part of the world!
