It's good take a walk on the quay. The foyle is a big river, probably not so different from other rivers but in a sunny day is good take a walk.

Stayed in the City Hotel and the view from my room was the Foyle River and what a beautiful view it was, there was boats going up and down the river I could have watched them all day, really wished I could wake up that view every morning

On a nice afternoon, the views are good. Take a walk and relax enjoying this river. You can take a cruise. It is close to downtown.

From the peace Bridge to the pace full river side walks what more could you want in a city centre. I was at a conference and the wife went out walking every day.

From our vantage point we could see the "Bridges" across the river "Foyle"..and the spires of the "Churches or Cathedrals".

We are told that the Shannon is the greatest river in Ireland. However the foyle is wider in Derry that the Lagan in Belfast, The Liffey in Dublin and the Shannon in Limerick. It runs deep and fast

We took a hike down from Molenan Cottage, and the walk itself was great, but the walk along the river? Really? In this day and age, seeing literally hundreds of plastic bottles, no thousands! I'll bet if someone gathered them all up, they'd have half a ton of plastic to recycle. Really quite a disappointment for someone visiting from overseas...

It's not just a pretty feature that makes the city look lovely, it's got a number of riverside walks you could do if you're doing a hiking or biking vacation. I think I spotted a kayaking club too that you could check out if you're going to be staying in Derry for a while.

Beautiful river, nice views and walks, and where the whole town gathered for fireworks show during Halloween celebration. It is in those waters that many ships traveled to Derry, a lot of the history of Northern Ireland happened on those waters. Definitely a privilege to have such a neat river running thru the city.

Looked like the river from Charlie and the chocolate factory it was just so so filthy, though worth a walk over on the beautiful bridge
