St Columba's church is St Augustine's, not St Columba's

I am amused that St Columba's (Columcille) church was founded on the site of St Augustine's. Very small chapel. Interesting church yard. Worth a wee stop.

This beautiful church has recently been restored and is well worth a visit. If the singer is there you are in for a treat.

Its hard to describe the feeling but this smaller church has a special "feeling" something akin to togetherness. While the larger examples are spectacular to look at they have that "cold" feeling. This is quite different and a welcome difference

A little gem on the walled city of Derry. Be sure to visit or even better go to one of their regular arts events if you are not of their faith. It's a place of tranquillity run by wonderful volunteers who love this place and are full of energy developing ideas for its continued access to the public.

Nestled on the walls, this is a beautiful, picturesque church to take in on a leisurely walk of the walls. Entry is with a donation and there is a gift shop on site too.

Visited here recently having never had the opportunity to go inside. What a beautiful church with a fascinating graveyard. We were lucky to be introduced to the current Reverend who gave us a little potted history. A must to visit while in the city

Loved this quaint little church on the walls of Derry , free entry we gave a donation, and they have a little gift shop too. Its very old and the inside is so peacefully, in the summer they have things on and craft fairs and the walls have actors from history just outside sometimex, at Xmas they have concerts. And... This little church on the walls was my childhood church and it is great that it is now being opened up for many other people to enjoy of all faiths and none. You can combine a visit to St Augustine's with a walk around the city walls. You will learn of its history and be able to chat to some friendly,... More

Within the walled city you will find the ancient church of St. Augustine. The graveyard is so interesting, we visited it twice. Ancient carved gravestones from pre-plantation times. A must see in Derry!

MY first visit was for a wonderful "Autumn" evening event of poetry, prose and songs - what a treat. The little church and the grounds are adorable. IT's only open on Sundays for 11am mass, I wish it were open more than that, but perhaps this keeps it so special.
