This little place in much more simplistic that the nearby St.Columb's, but well worth the short walk (less than 100 metres). You can also access the city's walls without steps here.

This is a nice church right off the city walls. I only spent about 15 minutes there, but it was worth it.

Situated near the famous Walls of the city, this church is so close to the Cathedral that it might easily be overlooked, but it is a very lovely church in its own right, beautiful without being imposing, inspiring and calming.

The atmosphere of this beautiful church, which has survived so much, was remarkable. A place to sit and contemplate for a while how far Derry has come and how amazing that the church still stands on the walls, giving welcome to all.

A smaller cosier version of its larger cathedral cousin. Cheerful friendly staff. Peaceful and well looked after

This is quite a small church. Although there was a church on the site since the seventeenth century, this building is Victorian. The most poignant item, I noticed was a poem written in the second world war about the church. The author was serving on board ship and was writing his memories of the church and his desire to return... More

St Augustine's is a small church inside the city walls. It is open to visitors in the summer months. We visited on the European Heritage Open Day. It has a warm and welcoming interior. Although we did not explore the graveyard it many of the historic graves are documented. The Reverend Pat Storey from St Augustine's has been appointed the... More

The St. Augustine's Church in Londonderry/Derry is fairly small and tucked in the City Walls, but is actually very historical (and quite a beautiful church). The present church was built in 1872, but is on the site of St. Columba's monastery from 546 AD. There are historical signs inside and outside the cathedral, telling the story of St. Columba and... Wonderful little church comes as a surprise tucked into a corner on Derry's walls. This was in the same week as the rector was appointed as the first female bishop in Ireland.
