The Ness Woods have some lovely walks alongside a river, and near a waterfall. The paths are well maintained, although some of them are occasionally closed for repair. There is good car parking, and even when the car park is busy, you will probably be on your own for most of your walk. Very tranquil.

There are good paths around the wood with views of beautiful woodland and the River Ness running through it. You can do a complete circuit in about an hour. On the upper path there is a great view of the highest waterfall in Northern Ireland, but some parts of the walk are steep, so not suitable for everyone. However, there... More

I take my dogs a walk here most days I have off from walk, it is beautiful and my dogs love it. The scenery is a sight to see and it is never to crowded for a good walk.

Ness wood is about five miles on the East side of the city heading towards . There are some great walks anytime of the year. Not really that wheelchair friendly. there are some bridges and steps to negotiate. There are waterfalls and streams . It is an ancient woodland plent of fauna and flora. Take your boots.

a little out of the town but well worth a visit. Best way to tire the kids out with a bit of exercise. Lovely in the winter but spectacular throughout the year.

Walk through Ness Wood and adjacent Ervey Wood along Burntollet river will take a brisk 75 mins. Most beautiful in summer and autumn as mainly deciduous trees. Pathways are dirt/gravel track and parts are very muddy in wet weather. Ness walk on it's own is a circuit of 35 mins brisk walking. Walk can incorporate section of steep wooden steps... More

This is a wonderful retreat in a busy life. A gentle walk, peace and quiet apart from birdsong. Do it and experience it for yourself!
