I've driven past the signs for Ness wood many times on the way from Belfast to Derry, and finally made a visit on a cold January Sunday. Lovely country park, with a nice visitor centre (only open on Sundays in winter) which introduced the landscape and wildlife. We had a disabled member of the party, so enjoyed a short, level,... Although a bit out of the way. I would have to say since the renovation to increase the size and Join with Ervey woods this is totally worth it. Get lost in the woods and enjoy the wildlife and the waterfalls that lay within.

Ness woods is quite far out from the city centre however, is a lovely peaceful walk. also the area would be quite popular for dog walkers etc.

A very relaxing stroll in a quiet country park and very peaceful. The ancient woodlands, the meandering stream, and the rushing waterfall make for a relaxing day out.

This is a little known gem. Once you go you will return! Beautiful walkways most wheelchair and pram accessible through ness woods past the river. Plenty to expore for the kids and if the river isn't too high kids can paddle in places with wellies. for the more active there's a steep climb to the beautiful waterfall. Around the visitor... beautiful walkways in an idyllic location, beautiful scenery. Great nature trails and lovely waterfall. Would recommend for nice romantic walks or to tire kid out letting them burn up some energy running around. Handy carpark with toilet facilities.

We had a 3 hour walk with 7 kids,4 adults. Got back to cars and had a lovely picnic and they kids... More

A very beautiful forest... a hidden gem that is well worth exploring. There's lots to see, especially the waterfalls & the wee bridges. Growing up, I explored every inch of this beauty spot & loved every minute.

The Ness Woods have some lovely walks alongside a river, and near a waterfall. The paths are well maintained, although some of them are occasionally closed for repair. There is good car parking, and even when the car park is busy, you will probably be on your own for most of your walk. Very tranquil.
