"We booked a half day tour of the Londonderry area on June 17th. Our guide and driver was Michael Cooper a Derry Blue Badge Guide. He gave us a most enjoyable tour mainly of the Inishowen Peninsular sharing his vast local knowledge and we can thoroughly recommend him. Thank you Michael. Liz"

We just toured Belfast and Giant's Causeway on the Antrim Coast in early July 2014. Our guide, Michael Cooper, was the best guide we have ever had. He shared all of his vast knowledge about the government and history of Northern Ireland which I found to be so interesting, especially coming from a lifetime native of the area. Of all... More

We just returned from a 17 day tour of Ireland which included a guided walking tour of Derry. Michael Cooper and Eugene Coyle were phenomenal guides. They shared both political and personal experiences of life in Derry and opened our eyes to a much deeper understanding of the "troubles" and the current pursuit of peace. This was one of the... Adrian took the 2 of us on a tour to the town of Donegal and Adare. From there we went to Slieve League and north along the coast on narrow back roads. We stopped whenever we wished. Along the way we learned local history. This was a relaxed trip with fantastic scenery, even better than what we saw on our... More

I asked for a guided tour in Derry during an educational trip to Ireland with 50 French students aged 14-15. Michael was a perfect guide: his explanations about Irish history and political conflicts were easy to understand for such young kids, and many of them were touched by his personal involvment for his country. In a word, they loved the... More

Michael Cooper,Our Guide for most of the two days was as near perfect as it is possible to get. Hid knowledge of the History, Architecture, Farming and just about everything else was interesting and enlightening. Glen, who took us on a tour of the Bog Side Murals, the Walls and the City had a deep knowledge of his subject. If... More

In January of 2014 I met Michael Cooper for an intensive and thorough tour of Belfast. I wanted to learn Belfast's political history. Michael did not disappoint. His expert knowledge of the past political conflict, the current peace process and the continued resolution to deal with these issues made the tour interesting. Combined with the venues he selected such as... More

Discovery Tours has availed of Michael's guide services for our educational tours for the past number of years. He provides a very informative history of L'Derry and can address the complex situation with sensitivity and understanding from many different perspectives with a sense of vitality and depth of detail that does much more than simply inform my tour members. My husband and I were the directors of a study abroad program which spent 5 weeks in Scotland and two weeks in Ireland. It was our first time to Ireland so finding the right guide was important. We could not be more pleased that we found Michael at Derry Blue Badge Guide. (By the way, Michael was able to recommend... More
