Well organised course which was tailor made to suit the needs of hill walkers. Instructors went through the skills in a clear and helpful way giving plenty of time for questions and explanations - much positive interaction between instructors and participants. Theory session followed by a hearty lunch - then on to the hills to put our newly learned skills... More

Spent three great days at Tollymore (Friday to Sunday). Tutor was knowledgable and approachable, well prepared. Staff warm and friendly. Food very good. One small quibble - beds are very narrow.

Personally have been staying at the centre for 1week everyday for about last 15years, centre staff / trainees are always fantastic with our group (adults with teenagers who have medical needs). Very patient and understanding and always eager to learn from the youths 'disabilities' for widen their own knowledge. On site the food is always amazing, made from scratch and... More

Arrived late (around midnight) but the staff were still very friendly and didn't mind at all. Why I have rated the stay as poor: 1) We were placed is a room fitted for a person with disabilities. We were not asked if this was ok. There were plenty of available rooms but these were not offered. If it was the... More

Good Afternoon, we are disappointed your experience here in the Centre wasn't a positive experience. From our system we can see you should have been allocated another room so I can only assume there was some mix up with our staff why you had been allocated a room fitted for someone with a disability. We are currently looking into this... More

Very helpful team leaders. Wel organised. Would go back again. Pity it was rather quiet. We are from Holland, meeting other people would have been nice.

Instructor was excellent but course was very unfair Two of us had no experience which was the way it should be and the other two had been kayaking Packed lunches provided no water or drinks which o would have said was very unprofessional for this type of service

Thankyou for taking the time to post a review. We promote this course as being 'tailored for those wishing to give Open Canoeing a go for the first time or for those individuals wanting to get back into a boat after an extended break'. Based on this we do not vet course participants prior to attending a course. We also... More

I attended this course with 5 other club members. Excellent course with Kieran a very experienced Instructor, who provided clear concise and easy to follow information. Allowed me to improve my navigation skills to keep me safer on the hills. I will be recommending this course to other members of my walking group The Kilbroney Ramblers.
