Beautiful place to visit, would go regular for a walk around the lake it is so peaceful and the scenery has such stunning views. Good to go for a nice relaxing walk or run or jog for the more active. Although think it should be compulsory for all dogs to be kept on a lead.

Do you like to walk around the lake? Or do you enjoy the challenging walk in the hills? Or the frustrating walk in the Peace Maze, with the final ring on the bell when you finished the puzzle? And then there is th play garden, not only nice for children to play in, also giving you an smile because of... More

I imagine at certain times of the year the gardens would be stunning, not sure what the quite high entrance fee is for, maybe for all of the staff standing around and the others driving 100kph through the car park. Pity that they don't put a bit more effort into the maintenance of the place. Don't know why the castle... More

The walks around the lake are really relaxing, but you can take easy walks right through to up the mountain(I wasn't feeling quite that energetic). The gardens are beautifully beautifully laid out, on the down side the green houses are empty and there is no acess to the castle. If you want a great walk with beautiful scenery its worth the... More

Sharon was amazing and the staff were so helpful - lent a helmut so didnt have to bring one. We had an idyllic ride on beautiful strong horses w feathers on their legs (not clydesdales)...we passed fields of blooming purple bluebells, ruins, a moorish tower, castle, gardens...enjoyed trots and canters and the horses were so excited and pleasurable to really... We spent most of our day meandering through the bush walking trails Including one around the edge of the large lake in the centre of the park. The park is also home to Castlewellan Castle, which sits majestically atop a hill overlooking the lake. This is obviously a great place for family picnics, and also offers canoe and mountain bike... Having many happy memories of the forest park as a child and taking our daughter there throughout her childhood we thought we would give our grandchildren the same wonderful experience. Sadly that was not to be. What used to be a very relaxing and informative walk around the lake has now become a game of Dodgems with cyclists. When children... More

The maze was so much fun, it took us an hour to find our way out! We were laughing as we passed the same people trying to find the way. At the end you are rewarded with a slope up to a bridge to see the maze from above and can ring a bell to signal your triumph. I would... More
