Although I now live in England, the John Hewitt will always remain my local and it's always one of my first ports of call in the city. Whenever I'm back home in Belfast I try to get out for a few beers and some grub in the Hewitt - in over 10 years of drinking there I've never had a... More

A pub named after a poet.Couple drinks here and you may feel poetic yourself.I had a bottle of local cider and I thought Byron Wordsworth who are those guys.I can give you a rhyme and a reason.Well its a great pub anyway lots of tables nice atmosphere.Lots of people chatting laughing having a good time.

Walking aimlessly Sat nite looking for some music when we happened upon this pub. A group of people were having what looked like an impromptu music session, and it was before 8 pm. Apparently most trad music occurs closer to 11pm in Belfast.

Stopped here yesterday for lunch whilst in Belfast for the Giro D'Italia. Tucked away in a scruffy street with a pretty uninviting frontage. Nice old fashioned pub inside I was greeted by a friendly waiter and seated in the window which was good as a lone diner I could watch the world go by. I had a vouchers for a... More

a fantastic traditional bar and well worth a visit not least to see the artwork for sale, and to hear whomever has popped in to play... very laid back and rough and ready as a good old fashioned pub should be.
