Great spot for a short walk

The gardens are just beautiful and the blooms are amazing. I went in May, so the roses weren't yet out in full force, but still a great place to spend an afternoon

DO yourself a favor and schedule your Belfast visit for Rose Week. Acres and acres of every rose imaginable! Gorgeous!!! I would imagine this park is lovely no matter what time of year. Lots of space to wander, great for a picnic or romantic stroll. If you are in Belfast this needs to be one of your stops.

My Wife and I visited the park during the early summer for a good long walk. The park itself is very tidy and there are numerous paths which you can take depending on how long you want to walk for. This would be an excellent park for dog-walkers, but also for families with young children too.

This had got to be the most beautiful park in the world in my opinion. I have travelled to many countries and and still rate here very highly. Maybe a bit biased as I have been going there most of my life.

'Lady Dixon' is a former estate and some of the appropriate features still remain, e.g. the stables, the walled garden and the gate lodges. There are two car parks, an upper and lower one, so it's maybe helpful you're not such an able walker but want to see different parts of this huge area. A special feature of this park... More

I love this park- it's usually so tranquil. In season, the roses are beyond spectacular. I always find the park area to be very well kept. Lovely oasis just outside Belfast.

immaculately-kept, clean and colourful with bright and appealing rosebeds to uplift the soul, the walkways here are a little piece of heaven within minutes from the city. Great picnic spot with excellent play area and a great day out.

WHAT A BRILLIANT SERVICE AT ROSE WEEK in July! It was a real pleasure to enjoy world-class customer care when I arrived at the Shopmobility Scooters stand at Dixon Park during Belfast's annual horticultural extravaganza, the International Rose Trials. As a traveller with mobility problems, I was delighted to be greeted by Mark, a man who knows how to put... More

I heard about Rose Week from a flyer I picked up at Belfast Castle last weekend. I'm only in the country for a few weeks, so I decided to check out the last day of Rose Week. Boy, was I pleasantly surprised. The park is gorgeous! A quiet reprieve from the city. I had no idea just a beautiful retreat... More

I visited the gardens during Belfast Rose Week. They are in a beautiful setting with a free shuttle bus service provided by Belfast City Council. The roses were magnificent and the array of colours marvellous. There was music and Irish dancing and it was a great day out.
