Have been going here since our children were young and now bring our grandchild. Safe play area, lots of space to walk and run in the extensive park area. Sunday Band Concerts have always been a particular favourite ( when we get the weather!)

I agree mostly with other reviews. However, the gardens are no longer organic. When I was a lad our clothes would have been carpeted with ladybirds. Now the rose and other gardens are illtreated with pesticides, hence no lapwings. This is serious and needs to be brought to the attention of Belfast city council parks and gardens.
Have been goind to this park for years, when my children were small it was great to be able to give them a walk before hitting the swings! Now kids have grown up and left still enjoy walks through gardens, very clean and well maintained. Highly recommend visit.
This is a lovely park just to go and dander and loose yourself in, but there are also play areas for kids, and when the roses are in bloom, it is simply wonderful. The rose gardens must surely be second to none.
I have been there few times. It is a truly family park. During summer this garden has more than 45000 blooms. It has a historical section tracing the history of the roses, an Irish heritage garden featuring the best roses from award-winning local breeders. The best time to visit here from late June till July, especially mid July when international...

The park has lovely rose gardens, a band stand that often has live music, super play areas for the kids, barbeque areas and the lovely Stables Coffe Shop. All in all this park is a lovely day out with something for all the family. Entry to the park is free of charge.
We go for walks here all the time. I've been bringing my kids here for 40 years. I especially like the Japanese Garden which is very beautiful and peaceful, but also the great sprawling grassy areas and of couse the Rose Gardens. A lovely oasis on the edge of Belfast.
The park is a great place for getting away from the City and stretching those legs on a good long walk. Beautiful surroundings to amble and spend a few hours in the fresh air. Also great to take the kids as an adventure playground on location and also a nice coffee shop. Good parking and the park is not that...
