Wasn't the lunch we expected. We both ordered stew which came to us obviously microwaved but not heated correctly, also the portion of chips were quite clearly refried We waited throughout our meal for a member of staff to ask how our meal was ,but this never happened, neither were we asked if we would like to reorder our drinks... This joint has the best live Irish pub band .....with the amazing Johnny who can play violin, bagpipes, various tin whistles, castinettes all with a jig , a song and commentary. But a band is mors than one and he's ably accompanied 2 other multi instrumentalists. For us a MUST SEE .....many thanks for a wonderful experience.

I had chicken and sweetcorn soup which was excellent followed by fish, with mush peas and chunky chips. The only thing which was not to my liking was the batter was a bit thick and soft and doughy on the... More

For a pub this place has quite a vast menu , generous portions and reasonably priced. If you're looking for cheap big portions this is the place. I find the food here though seems to lack that home made taste but its great if you're having a few drinks. It is not fine dining with everything tasting a bit greasier... More

Called in for a pint while waiting for a train. I hadn't been for about 20 years but always remembered it as a friendly spot. My pint had barely been poured before I found myself in conversation with a couple of locals and 2 American visitors. Seems like little has changed.
