Description: The Grand Opera House in Belfast is Northern Ireland's premier theatre...
The Grand Opera House in Belfast is Northern Ireland's premier theatre, presenting a range of drama, dance, opera, comedy, musicals, pantomime, family and West End shows. Established in 1895, the theatre boasts the majestic Victorian main auditorium designed by renowned architect Frank Matcham. Extended in 2006, the original building has been joined by a striking addition to Belfast's skyline, The Baby Grand. The initiate studio is home to a smaller performance space with 100 seats. Northern Ireland's premier theatre delivers an outstanding programme of entertainment, playing host to some of the greatest names in theatre and music. The theatre boasts a wide array of popular shows; everything from opera and drama to pantomime, comedy and musicals. The Grand Opera House offers unrivalled corporate hospitality with tailored events packages and is the perfect venue for meetings, special events and conferences of all sizes. The historical theatre is one of the most unique conference venues in Belfast, catering for seminars, conferences, meetings and weddings for up to 130 people in the Baby Grand Studio. The Main Auditorium holds up to 1060 people and smaller meeting rooms are also available. The theatre bars stock a range of drinks including beer, wine and spirits, in addition to tea and coffee.

Great show in the Baby Grand tonight....."Dial M for Murder". However, it was unbearably hot. So much so that I couldn't actually enjoy the show. This is a new venue, why can't there be proper temperature control. Not good enough.

3hr show. It was fun just as professional as a West End show. Seated in the Gods. Very steep. Really old fashioned. Absolute gem

Love the atmosphere and style, shows for everyone! Just be sure if you're very tall to book a front row seat, not much leg room as the seats are the originals!

I am hard of hearing and went to a show earlier in the year and missed a lot of the dialogue, even with my two hearing aids. Last night my wife and I went to see "The Kings Speech" and asked if they had the Loop System. They gave me a necklace receiver for five pounds, refunded at the end... More

Born and bred in Belfast so I have been to the Grand Opera House many many times......from Grease The Musical....The George Best Story...Give My Head Peace to name a few. Great cosy wee venue steeped in history and during the interval you can enjoy looking at the carvings, paintings and decorations that festoon the ceilings, walls and fabric of this... More

A truly charming old world style which literally oozes character. The venue is a mix of old and new, with the bars and food areas being quite moden, and the theatre being old world. Ornately decorated, you could spend an hour just admiring the location. Very comfortable, with staff plentiful, helpful and very well trained. Thumbs up!

It's been rebuilt and has mod cons like a bar and somewhere to sit. You still get nosebleeds in the Gods but it's comfortable and there's lots to see inside.

This iconic building is well worth a visit. the décor etc is Victorian in character and awesome. Sometimes hard to concentrate on the show! think there is a café open during the day but don't know anything about that. very well kept and very clean, including bathrooms.

No pre booking integral drink. Not enough bar staff on duty to serve customer demand . Knees to sort this out
