Established in 1895, the theatre boasts the majestic Victorian main auditorium designed by renowned architect Frank Matcham. Extended in 2006, the original building has been joined by a striking addition to Belfast's skyline, The Baby Grand. The initiate studio is home to a smaller performance space with 100 seats. The theatre boasts a wide array of popular shows; everything from opera and drama to pantomime, comedy and musicals. The Grand Opera House offers unrivalled corporate hospitality with tailored events packages and is the perfect venue for meetings, special events and conferences of all sizes. The historical theatre is one of the most unique conference venues in Belfast, catering for seminars, conferences, meetings and weddings for up to 130 people in the Baby Grand Studio. The Main Auditorium holds up to 1060 people and smaller meeting rooms are also available. The theatre bars stock a range of drinks including beer, wine and spirits, in addition to tea and coffee.

You will not get a nicer opera house than the GOH Belfast, it amazes me every time I go to see a play. Just keep looking at the paint work on the ceiling to see how things use to be done.

The Father Ted Dinner Show was first class. We attended as a family party of 8 and had and had a great nights craic. Dinner was very good and the Grand Opera Staff were very attentive. The vegetarian option was lovely and they provided wedges for my children which they loved. The show itself was very entertaining I would highly... More

Lovely surroundings with super ambiance all added up to a great evening. Quality service and sensible prices. I would rate the GOH as a 10 out of 10 experience. Looking forward to return visit!.

Not being a regular to the Opera, I was not sure what to expect. The Opera House welcomed us very warmly, with all staff smiling and sending us the right direction. On arrival we had a drinks reception in the Baby Grand bar, where the barman twisted our arm to preorder wine for the table (this was greatly accepted!) The... More

Fantastic night out. Excellent food. This was very entertaining and I will definitely visit again. The characters were very funny and would recommend going along to see this show particularly if you also want to enjoy good food, this is great value.

My friends and I had been trying to book tickets to this show for ages and it was worth the wait. Really funny evening, the actors were highly entertaining and had us in stitches all night. I've never laughed so much in ages and we all had a great time. The food was very good and service was excellent. Good... More

I wouldnt take money to sit through this drivel again. . I have nothing but praise for the GOH staff including kitchen staff. The show was terrible. I wish I had heeded the review from the Edinburgh fringe showing which said it was one to miss. The TV show 'Father Ted' was intelligent, funny and satirical. It sent up the... More

On the same night as being told that The Crown does not cater for disabled people, i was down heartened by my Belfast experience, was booked to see pantomime with my wife and 12yr old daughter who uses a wheelchair. On arrival at the Opera house staff met us by opening doors, and making sure we got inside with minimum... More

Been here a few times, most recently last night for Give My Head Peace. Very comfortable seats, even the seats beside the posts are good as they give a little extra room which is handy when your husband has very broad shoulders!! Last night we had aisle seats in the stalls, perfect view of the stage, great sound too. Facilities... More
