The Grand Opera House in Belfast is Northern Ireland's premier theatre, presenting a range of drama, dance, opera, comedy, musicals, pantomime, family and West End shows. Established in 1895, the theatre boasts the majestic Victorian main auditorium designed by renowned architect Frank Matcham. Extended in 2006, the original building has been joined by a striking addition to Belfast's skyline, The Baby Grand. The initiate studio is home to a smaller performance space with 100 seats. Northern Ireland's premier theatre delivers an outstanding programme of entertainment, playing host to some of the greatest names in theatre and music. The theatre boasts a wide array of popular shows; everything from opera and drama to pantomime, comedy and musicals. The Grand Opera House offers unrivalled corporate hospitality with tailored events packages and is the perfect venue for meetings, special events and conferences of all sizes. The historical theatre is one of the most unique conference venues in Belfast, catering for seminars, conferences, meetings and weddings for up to 130 people in the Baby Grand Studio. The Main Auditorium holds up to 1060 people and smaller meeting rooms are also available. The theatre bars stock a range of drinks including beer, wine and spirits, in addition to tea and coffee.

My wife and I went to see the bodyguard last night, we have been before to the GOH, it has a very charming atmosphere staff where polite and engaging, I have seen comments about the popcorn machine at the front entrance, I didn't think it was a big deal, perhaps they could disguise it as an old fashioned stall or... Iconic and historic building. Within walking distance of Great Victoria street bus and train station. Right beside Europa hotel and surrounded by hotels, restaurants, bars etc. The theatre itself oozes atmosphere. Excellent pre show drinks area. Seating was designed 100 plus yeas ago. So do check out pillars before purchasing tickets. A very intimate theatre space! Never disappoints.

Went to see a concert which was very good. I've been going to Opera House for a good few years but noticed of late it has cheapened its image. Its a pretty gastly sight to see those dreadful tacky Popcorn machines & drinks machines as soon as you go in the front door! Why they aren't in a more discreet... More

It was nice to not be going to see "Peppa Pig" or "Ben and Holly" for a change. I went with my significant other to go and see Swan Lake. Our last attempt at a ballet was Romeo and Juliet, which I did not enjoy - I kept waiting for a tune I knew - but to no avail. However,... More

We recently went here on a midweek night and were surprised that the place was sold out. Despite the renovations a few years back the entry level isn't great if you are in a wheelchair it isn't conducive to self propelled chairs as the portable ramps up the steps are quite steep. the staff are always more than happy to... It's become our family tradition to see a pantomime here - they never disappoint. May McFetridge is a N.Ireland institution and I hope she continues for many more years to come. They/re a great day out for all the family, adults included, and they're of great high level quality.
