Established in 1895, the theatre boasts the majestic Victorian main auditorium designed by renowned architect Frank Matcham. The theatre boasts a wide array of popular shows; everything from opera and drama to pantomime, comedy and musicals. The Grand Opera House offers unrivalled corporate hospitality with tailored events packages and is the perfect venue for meetings, special events and conferences of all sizes. I go to the Opera House about 8 times a year and it's a good venue for mainstream theatre. There's a good range of shows, the staff are friendly and I find the seats good. The shows are quite amusing, from finding out that Cats is awful, to having the surprise of the Mousetrap being really good, you're always guaranteed... More

Went to see this amazing show on Saturday 28th February - have seen it before in Grand Opera House many years ago and was not disappointed! Fabulous show, great acting and fantastic singing. Great seats and a marvellous atmosphere in this really interesting old building. It never ceases to amaze me that we have such a treasure in the centre... More

The entrance and foyer of the Grand Opera House is more utilitarian than grand but the auditorium itself is lovely with loads of character and deserved of the prefix. As for the performance of Salome, Northern Ireland Opera really need to consider what they are trying to achieve. A lot of effort was put into staging the production. There were... More

Saw this production on Friday 27th February and thoroughly enjoyed same. Excellent seats in the Stalls close to the exit doors. I thought the character of Judas became a bit screechy in the middle and towards the end but the rest of the cast were great. Rydian portraying Piontus Pilate stole the show for me. When he first sang I... More

Show was fine. As I had kids and did not want to spend a fortune it was recommend we should sit in the gods in central row C. This would have been fine apart from the bar on the left side in front blocking my few. Lucky there were plenty of free seats so we moved over. As the show... More

Always enjoy a visit to the opera house. Miss the food but lots of good restaurants nearby. Tickets can be pricey for some shows. ..........

Grand Opera House itself is a great venue. The show itself was good, however I don't think the setting (trailer park) displayed the show to the intensity it deserved. The lead Salome carried the show
