Queens University is the centre point of the educational facilities in Northern Ireland. It's beautiful and historic buildings are 'must see' venues for tourists visiting Belfast.

I attended the University a few years back as part of my Masters Degree but I didn't fully appreciate the wonderful architecture of the building, well worth a visit.

Beautiful 500 year old University, commissioned by Elizabeth 1st. Great architecture and grounds. Apparently you can stay in the accommodation areas outside term times, worth checking into if you are a student or on a budget.

Queen's University is my alma mater (many years ago now) but I have a connection to the old place which will last a lifetime. The Lanyon Building is perhaps the iconic face of QUB, and well worth a visit through to the central quad where you can take a seat and enjoy the passing student traffic or the tranquillity and... I just passed by, I was not able to enter the building in order to see the interior but I was amazed again from the exterior and its design!

Tour the Lanyon building (the old castle like building). The Student Union across the street has a very good coffee shop.

I'm grateful to be an alumn of these hallowed walls. The building is on some of the Northern Ireland sterling notes and has a special place on the hearts and history of Belfast. There are tours and areas to check out. Much like Trinity in Dublin, there is also a shop for souvenirs. Go to the Quad and if you... More
