Queen's University was founded in 1845 as Queen's College and became an independent university in 1908. QUB is the ninth oldest university in the UK & is in the top 1% of universities worldwide. (QS world university rankings). The place has very fond memories for my husband who studied medicine there in the 1980's & is a striking, imposing place... More

A stroll though the Main building into the courtyard garden is a lovely experience. You can stop in the University shop and collect a range of memorabilia some of which is locally created and hand crafted in Northern Ireland.

A gorgeous building; a great photo stop. Try to avoid times when classes are letting out as it is very busy at that time.

Old, but beautiful neo-gothic hall of learning in Belfast, steeped in tradition. A working university today, which along with other newer buildings in the area continue as the seat of learning in Belfast. One of the prettier sights in town. Gift shop sells university themed items. Grounds were immaculate.

Just a lovely place to wander around. It's beside the Botanic Gardens and has some lovely building around it. Plenty of places to dine around it. The onsite eateries are a bit on the expensive side especially for students.

Don't miss the botanical gardens when visiting Queen's University. The buildings themselves harken back to an earlier day. It is especially meaningful if you also visit Trinity University in Dublin.

A piece of architectural and cultural history to be captivated with and the Botanic Gardens next door. I can imagine this sight of this place making you want to achieve and want to strive for success. And a decent photo opportunity too, the expanse of the place, falls in with the other grand building of Belfast and surrounding area.

The title says it all really. This is stunning building from an architectural point of view. The grounds are well kept gardens with green grass and healthy manicured plants and bushes. You can see the pride in every aspect of such a grand edifice and it seems to shine through in the faces of the occupants.
