My colleague and i stopped in for a pint of the black stuff whilst away in Belfast on business...the atmosphere was great, the bar staff friendly....the Guinness was great! The little cobbled street with benches was nice to sit outside a carry out some people watching and soak up some of the Belfast atmosphere. Think i have just found my... More

Friends from the area insisted that a visit to Belfast would not be complete without a stop at the Duke of York. The area is perfect for experiencing a short distance "pub crawl" as there are several pubs in the vicinity. We enjoyed our time at the Duke of York.

It would be wrong to go to Belfast and not come here. Great Guinness, a great little no-nonsense pub, and some amazing paintings a murals in the local area. And a good selection of whiskey.

Was recently on a trip home and called in for a beer. Haven't been here for twenty years and it's a museum place of a bar inside Fascinating to look around inside and they have a good selection of beers too. Was there early evening and it was quiet but steady. Really lovely and much better than many other more... More

Found this bar on a walking tour, apparently it was where Gerry Adams had his 1st job. The bar is well decorated you could spend the time just reading the walls, we found the staff to be friendly and helpful, the bathroom is upstairs and was clean and again the decor up the stairs all well worth a look. As... More

Located in a little by-road in the cathedral quarter, this is the place to go if you love a buzzy crowd and a happening experience. The inside is beautifully crafted, and pretty big but fills up easy. Went on a Friday and there was some good live music by a solo guitarist. Great bartenders who were more than happy to... More

If you're after a historic pub in Belfast, you have to visit the Duke of York. Not only does it have a immense kerb appeal, but the service is really friendly and it's great fun.

Visited in a small group on a Saturday evening and the place was bouncing, primarily because of a group of stag night guys that were in fine fettle and quickly became the cabaret. No live music as pub was too busy but good mixture of 70's, 80's & 90's music on the sound system. Took a while to get served... More

My visit coincided with a heatwave a rarity in these parts I know. The alley outside the pub was full of people drinking and enjoying the sun.Plenty still inside pub as well it is a character friendly place. The sort of pub that makes drinks taste better. On the wall in gents toilet are pictures of the aftermath of a bomb attack on...
