The gower peninsula is undoubtedly a scenic place, particularly when you consider that's it's also next to Swansea, which is a horrific place! But having just spent time in Dorset and Devon,it's just not a patch of them. Less choice of good eateries, weather a bit unpredictable, some of the towns a wee bit run Down. Still worth a visit if you are nearby... More

Or if you like watersports, walking, good eating, the proximity to Swansea, and it's shops/cultural attractions, even pubs, bars and nightlife (these last do NOT appeal to me) then visit Gower. There are beaches all round the peninsula and the tourist office in Mumbles provided a good guide to them all, also a tide timetable. There are castles to visit at Oxwich,... More

It was a great place to go to get away from the stress of life Magnificent views and walks the only downside we found was the eateries were a bit shabby.

We have just returned from a most enjoyable week in Gower. We stayed in a fantastic holiday cottage overlooking Oxwich bay and spent happy days visiting Caswell, Port Eynon, Llangennith and Rhossilli. Great for surfing and other water sports as well as walking and eating fish and chips!

Just amazing. Couldn't get enough of the place. Everyone will probably see it in a different way so I'm not gonna describe too much about the place. Just see it if you're ever knocking about in the area.

Some of the best outdoor scenery in the UK and a walkers paradise. Not an area to be covered in a day so make sure to pick out areas of interest so that you can plan your trip!

We visited several coves which were very pleasant and did a fair amount of walking which took in some lovely views. The beaches were very nice and on the whole were clean although there was the inevitable dog mess in places. Obviously not enough dog wardens to put these thoughtless dog owners in their place.

A good distance from home but well worth the time and effort to visit - again and again and we will always return. A magical place where you can chill out and enjoy the scenery and just walk or splash in the tideline to your hearts content. There is nothing better than to stroll on a beach early in the... More

Wow, what can i say, It is breathtaking a must do visit! wear flat comfortable shoes as there is plenty of walking! There is a small national Trust shop with the usual goodies and a lovely bistro and hotel serving food and drinks. When we visited, the steps down to the gorgeous beach were being re built so no access... More
