South Gower: Avoiding the [sadly] scruffy, overrated, overcrowded, overpriced and neglected village of The Mumbles like the plague, there is a lovely but pretty overcrowded beach at Langland (smallish beach and very popular with locals), I recommend early morning arrival to snaffle a car parking space(not cheap). There is a restaurant at one end of the beach that's good for... More

Lived, camped and walked on Gower. Unspoilt fantastic peninsular lots of fantastic beaches, Mumbles Pier, delicacies such as cockles, laverbread, cawl, welsh cakes to name but a few. Watersports offered on many beaches and so much more. You have to visit to believe it. Hope one day to retire on Gower.

I was lucky enough to be born in The Mumbles the gateway to the Gower peninsular, for the last six years my wife and myself have owned a caravan situated in Port Eynon one of the most beautiful places on the Gower, other exellant beaches are Langland,Caswell,Oxwich,Three Cliffs, and not forgetting the world renown Rhossilli/Llangenneth beach which is undoubtedly the most beautiful beach... I was so impressed I came to live here. It has some of the best views and beaches in the world, and two great golf clubs.

if the weather is good why pay to go anywhere else. Gower has everything you need stunning beaches some even blue flag status, stunning views, woodlands, walks, decent pubs and even some fantastic food restaurants. I have lived in various parts of Devon and though Devon is lovely Gower is a naturally unspoilt place, which was one of the first... More

Wonderful beaches, esp. Port Eynon and Oxwich. Everyone very friendly and laid-back. Loved Bay Bistro at Rhossili, too, and the National Trust employees there. The Kitchen Table in Mumbkes great, also.

Am in the process of walking the Wales coastal path (200 miles out of 860 completed). This stretch is beautiful. I would suggest the Oxwich to Rhosilli walk, just give yourself plenty of time to admire the views.
