We had Rib Eye Steak and Gammon - both were cooked to perfection, the fat on the Gammon was lovely and crispy and my Steak was medium-rare (exactly as I like it, not over cooked, which it is in so many other places ) the rest of the food was delicious, good choice of drinks too! The added bonus was... More

A lovely atmospheric pub but the food was just average. I had the curry which was ok, my husband ordered a sandwich. It arrived, 2 slices of bread and butter with tuna on a plate with no garnish, no crisps and cost £5+! Will not be returning.

We were meeting up with some cousins, one of whom had organised The Valley as the venue. My initial impression is that it is neither a pub nor a restaurant. I had a pint, £3.25 is a bit more than I would have expected, and no menu is a distinct nuisance. I really dislike having to read a board over... More

Went to the Valley pub in Bishopston again for lunch , I had the Vegetable Tortilla Stack , hadn't seen it on the menu before and although I'm not vegetarian I gave it a go. It's a New Zealand dish made by Chris and one word describes it , DELICIOUS !!! Try it . Never had a bad meal there... More

We have eaten at the Valley many times and have never been disappointed. They have a wide selection of choices on the menu, offering something for everyone. The food is excellent, yet the prices are very reasonable. The welcome is warm and the service is great. I would highly recommend a visit!

A lovely little pub to cater for your every need. Great selection of beers including real ales, a good menu offering tasty food and a fantastic atmosphere. What more to ask for?

I've reviewed this place before - see elsewhere. We went for another Sunday lunch and were again not disappointed: a well-cooked lean cut of beef, yorkshire puds, roast and new potatoes, cauliflower in white sauce, carrots, broccoli, mashed swede and as much of their excellent gravy as you want, all cheerfully and courteously served. I don't know how they do... More

We've never had a bad meal here ever. In the summer it can be very busy but it's worth the wait. There is a pretty standard British menu that you would expect with changing fish dishes that gives it an interesting edge. Good range of beers. All at superb value.

Excellent, we were disapointed that we could have what we ordered at The Woodman in Blackpill so 6 of us moved to The Valley. The kitchen was just closing but took our order and the food was excellent, thank you
