A lovely stately house and gardens surrounded by lovely parkland. As you go around the house, the guides inform you about each room and you are given the history and the lifestyle of Lord Tredagar who later owned the property. Each guide was very informative and the history of the house was interesting. Outside the gardens were full of colour and... More

Having visited many NT locations where the 'officiousness' of staff often limited our full enjoyment, Tredegar House was a wonderful change and an example of how visits can be made so much more fun. Friendly and welcoming staff inviting us to open books and read them, to sit in chairs and handle artefacts , added a memorable dimension to this... More

This is a beautiful place to visit, we went specifically for halloween but I would go back again to spend more time in the house as it is so well done. The gardens are very well kept and it would be lovely to spend time there in the spring and summer as well. We all had a great time, the... More

Tredegar House was a very grand house in its day one the most magnificent 17th-century houses inWales. It is situated within 90 acres of beautiful gardens and parkland, it was once home to the Morgan family later the Lords Tredegar who owned more than 40,000 acres in the area by the end of the 18th century. A family of several... More

We stopped here on the way back from our holiday. House is lovely, toilets are clean, car parking easy and the cup of tea was very welcome.

We had considered where to take the kids for a spooky Halloween day for a couple of days. Many places required booking and payments before attending. Tredegar House did not. A very easy place to get too, 2 minutes off then M4. With 3 children, this was excellent. When we turned up we hadn't realised there was a £2 parking... More

Don't bother to be honest. We went for Halloween which was a real disappointment. I cannot imagine what there is to do there without a special event on. First we made 'spooky biscuits'. (Additional cost) Couldn't tell what the biscuits were supposed to be and when my daughter tried to finish decorating hers, she was told to 'leave some for... More

We were disappointed with our visit today, having seen adverts for pumpkin carving and biscuit decorating, at a cost of £3 per pumpkin and 50p per biscuit, we arrived to be told that we also still had to pay full admission to the house, despite the fact that we had no intention of going in, and despite the fact that... What can we add to the nice comments about this place? We visited on a fairly rainy day so did not see the park surrounding, but did get a look at the well kept gardens. The house was our main visit , although the stables are quite remarkable. From the house side they actually look like another country house.Certainly not... More

Visited the Cafe upon a friend's recommendation and I have to say that I really liked it. The homemade lemon curd cake was huge but also very good, as was the coffee & panini. Much recommended.
