The quay itself was host to the filming of Torchwood (UK TV series), and one of the walls of the quay has been taken over by the fans as a shrine to one of the characters, Ianto Jones, who was killed off during series 3 of Torchwood (Children of Earth). Five years on from there and the shrine is still... More

Spent a great few hours in the sun watching the comings & goings. The area has been developed very well but the one thing missing was clear signage for the toilets! It was only by luck I found them (they're by the Glee club) and I was able to advise an elderly lady that there was a lift or l... More

Great setting, great restaurants. Great place for an evening out. Cinema, IMAX, bowling, pubs, restaurants and Dr Who.

Lots of food areas which offer a wide range of palets and purses. Careful about opening hours. You have also got access to the waterfront - we thought it funny to see a pay and display for boats! The view is spectacular!

Maybe a bit bias as I caught the quay, on a gloriously sunny day. great place to sit down with a glass of your favourite tipple and watch the day pass. Plenty of very nice restaurants and bars around.

Took the 20 minute walk from the city centre down to Mermaid Quay, expecting a variety of shops and eating establishments, only to find the area is full of eating places, good selection, but unless you are hungry, there is little else there. There is not even anything worth looking at on the way to the Mermaid Quay's.

Lots to see and do. The Welsh Parliament is there and at weekend free to go and visit. There was a nice live band at Easter which attracted good crowd. There is Doctor Who exhibition and a Boat exhibition. Lots of restaurants plus an Imex cinema. A good day out for the family.

Lots of eateries (including takeaway) but not really anywhere to sit and admire the view. There's an old-style carousel with galloping horses, boat rides, Crafts in the Bay, the Norwegian Church a bit of a walk away and a couple of small supermarkets. We wandered around for an hour or so in the sunshine after having lunch in one of... More

We stayed near the quay on a family break over Easter. It's a great place to visit for sight seeing, or having a drink in a bar/cafe whilst relaxing and watching the world go by. The list of restaurants is vast; everybody will find a place they like to eat. Live music and markets make it a fun place for... More
