This is a jewel. This is an iconic venue for concerts, recitals and also a great place for jazz (free) on a friday evening. Definitely worth calling on for a coffee also!

I'm ashamed to say that despite being local to cardiff and someone who enjoys live performance, I'd never been to the royal welsh. Found their web site very easy to use, booked tickets for the Richard Burton Company's rendition of Nöel Coward's Hay Fever. Given good advice on parking, disabled parking spaces close to the venue, other public parking nearby... More

I was here for the BBC Cardiff Singer of the World Competition 2013 - went to some masterclasses as well as the competition final. What a wonderful venue for such an event ! Thoroughly enjoyed it

Prestigious yes, snobby no. A wonderful centre for learning, with teachers of excellence both technically, and with experience, however the best part is the integrity with which they teach these talented youngsters. No pushing, but great encouragement. The kids are happy and therefore naturally motivated and they are valued as people not just as instruments. The productions are of the... More

I had the great pleasure of attending a concert by Only Boys Aloud Academi at the Dora Stoutzker Hall at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. This is an excellent little concert hall which holds I think about 360 people. The sightlines are excellent and the acoustics superb. I definitely look forward to going there again.

Attended a friends wedding here - what a fantastic venue! There was over 130 guests & it seemed perfect, with a large bar area & outside decked space over looking the park to enjoy the rate bit of sunshine. The inside space was very modern & elegant & felt so airy. The food was gorgeous & staff & service all... More

A colleague recommended this place to me for lunch overlooking Bute Park otherwise I would never have thought to go in. Glad I did though - plenty of seating - although it gets very busy at lunch time and today there was a 1.15pm concert taking place so there was a lot of coming and going. However, plenty of seating... More

I regularly go here. In the summer you can sit outside and have wonderful views of the park.In the winter, snuggle insode and have the views. Often some music going on. Good value coffee and light lunches.

This is a well kept secret. Free jazz on a Friday evening and a bar/bistro where you can get decent food and wine. Don't tell anyone!
