This castle is truly fairytale with beautifully decorated rooms. If you can't manage the steps there is a computer presentation which shows the upstairs room. Definitely worth a detour and excellent value for money. more

Castell Coch stands, tantalisingly, just north of the M4 on the journey around the outskirts of Cardiff. It seemed so incongruous for there to be a Bavarian-style castle in South-Wales. Spent an hour and fifteen mins looking over this charming fairytale castle which has been well preserved. Delightful rooms furnished with furniture of the time. The wall coverings are beautiful and well worth a stop. Has a small shop and tea rooms. Delightful. more
