We stopped for tea and cake. The person who served us was very knowledgeable about the castle and the local area. It was very interesting and informative. The cafe was cosy and intimate.

One of the best attractions in South Wales. I love the castle, it's unique decor and the surrounding woodland. Children love the make believe and adventure and adults love the fantasy and naughtiness of some of the features! A great day out any time of year! Fabulous place for a fairytale wedding.

It's a nice place and the people are very nice but in reality it is not a real castle. A rich guy in the 1870s decided to build something that would be something like a real castle. So the lack of actual history bothered me. Otherwise it's a nice place.

Interested in history? Well, this is your place. Entry is not expensive and you can walk around in the past inside the walls of this nice storytelling castle.

We turned up on a day when a wedding was taking place and when I had finished looking round, I thought what a beautiful place to get married! It is quite small in comparison to other castles I have been to but there was still plenty to see! You can get a free audio guide but we declined as we... More

A magical place to visit. The red castle is not quite as red as it used to be. However it is bathed in a vibrant and colourful history and is great fun for the whole family to explore! It is a Disney princesses dream castle. Some of the locals call it the fairy castle possibly because it looks like it was... More

Managed to go when it was closed for maintence although still very pretty from the outside. The signs could be a little better but we had satnav which took us straight there! Seemed quite expensive but something to do.

Beautiful old castle with an interesting story. Great for all ages but need to be able to walk up lots of steps to see it all.
