What a fairytale place. beautiful inside. Sad to think it's never been lived in. You can get married & have a wedding there. Beautiful setting.

The Castell Coch is the younger and lesser known sister castle of Cardiff Castle because both were owned by the same man. There are many similarities between the two. However, I prefered Castell Coch because it is smaller but you come in contact more with the interior. It makes you get lost through the centuries leaving you wondering if you... More

Castell Coch is a fairy tale castle sitting high on the escarpment overlooking Tongwynlais and the M4 designed by Burges and built for the 3rd Marquis of Bute. Access is very easy although a steep drive. The car park can become full very quickly during the high season (especially if it's raining!) so to avoid a climb - get there... More

A very quaint little castle, built for the Marquis of Bute, so in reality more of a folly than an ancient castle. The décor in the living quarters is superb, and shows how much money was spent on this place. Plenty of car parking spaces and well worth a visit.

Castell coch is magical. With it's fairytale looks it transfoms anyone into a pure romantic with it's turrets and beautifully decorated interior.

Quite a small but fairy tale like castle set in a pretty woodland. Victorian restoration with interiors similar to cardiff castle. There is a small cafe in the courtyard but they don't do much in the way of food. There are winding staircases and interesting rooms with some interpretation panels on the restoration and history. Nice place to spend a... More
