We were very surprised by Castell Coch, it was a lovely refurbished castle, very informative and were given a free audio guide. We visited in the rain but this didn't dampen our visit. Only down side was that the tea room was cash only.

We took visitors from Canada to Castell Coch for a fresh look on a welsh castle, they had already been to Warwick Castle and a castle ruin and were astonished with the beauty of Castle Coch. This fairy-tale style castle is ideal for all. The only downside to the castle is that as in most cases with historic building it... More

A beautiful romantic castle set in the moutains. Such an unusual castle because of the shape, and the decor inside and the history. Good value for money with a free audio tour full of information. The decorations in the room are magnicient especially the room with aesops fables...you could sit in there for hours telling stories and looking for the... More

Lovely surprise, this really is like a fairy tale mini castle. Steep steps but great decorations. There is a shop and a tea room, contrary to their own web site saying they did not. We visited in wet weather so it was a little slippery but,on a nice day, this place would be even better

Very romantic with curve brick walls, like Cinderella castle, but inside was a bit dull and nothing substantially memorable. Need to drive there, not accessible by train.

The visit was a private, guided tour, a present from our daughter. James our guide was extremely knowledgeable, and also very passionate about the castle. He gave us a great deal of historical detail, and very cleverly linked this in with the features of the building itself, both inside and out. The tour seemed to go very quickly, but such... More

Took my sister, niece and mother to visit and was unhappy that the price had risen to £5.60 each. The castle is good but until recently it was only £3.60 an adult. I could not see any improvements to reflect the price hike. Also it was very disappointing that building work was taking place in the middle of August so... More

Having lived all my life within 20 miles of Castell Coch and having driven past it literally thousands of times - seeing it peeping from the tress just off the A470 - I finally got round to visiting it. What a treasure it truly is - the decorations in some of the rooms are quite incredible. I have to say... More

Small and well kept castle. If you have mobility issues then this may not be the place for you due to steps needed to climb to visit differing rooms. Interior decor is stunning. Staff were incredibly helpful and friendly- Cadw property. Would I recommend? Yes, Would I revisit? Yes

My friend and I have always been regular visitors to the tea room at Castell Coch, buying copious amounts of coffees, teas and cakes over the years. The tea room shut for a while, but has now reopened. However we went there today and were turned away, to be told that we needed to purchase entry tickets now in order... More
