While not on a Grand Scale compared to European Castles such as Castle Von Ludwig or Schwangua Castle in Germany Castle Coch is true to it's era and is every bit as worth a visit, if you are in Cardiff. It is authentic and restored to the taste of it's owner Lord Bute. Every room has a story and if... More

Such a beautiful place and location, the only negative is the price for entry to the castle, not very good value for money. If you like walking and admire stunning views, there are some lovely paths and trails to take in the scenery, gorgeous sights when the sun is shining!

also belongs to the Bute Family I believe, not as big and luxurious as the Cardiff Castle, but has its own style. Interesting to walk into the woods near a very friendly neighbourhood and explore the Victorian architecture. The audio guide is free and very helpful for extended knowledge about the place.

Castell Coch is beautiful. It's stunning. Inside and out it is worth visiting ideally on an okay weather day. Inside there is an audio tour with headset which worked for all our family the 10yo enjoying it to the full and 7yo intermittently especially the instructions how to get to the next location. If you are visiting the area and... More

What a pretty little place and it must be lovely to go to a function there. Unfortunately it is very pricey to get in considering that it is so small and can only take a few minutes to walk around!

Whoever we take here, they enjoy themselves. From the grand-children to the the grandparents. The coffee shop is nice too.

Completely over the top Victorian Gothic. Warning - lots of narrow spiral stone steps. Do use the free audio guide - this gives just the right amount of information and there is no information in the rooms themselves. We spent about an hour - it's very manageable.

I cannot emphasise how important and worthwhile it is to visit this place. I visited on a misty day, which added to the fairytale feeling of the place. The interiors are sumptuous and gothic in every sense, and one could spend many hours admiring them. Every room has good information about it in the guidebook, which brings the place to... More

I've visited castle coch many times, its a fantastic fairytale castle set in a dense wooded area with great walks for the family (and dog) regardless of the time of year or weather conditions.
