I use to walk my dog on Caerphilly mountain now and again. It is not a high mountain but you can take a good view of the city of Cardiff. Great for some exercise up and down the hills. There is a carpark that you dont have to pay, also there is a place to eat or drink a coffee.... More

Being an Austrian this does not rate as a mountain. But the views from the top are firstclass and the walks around it quite energetic. It is very well kept and the benches are placed at the best spot with lovely views of the valley. We will go again as we live nearby now. Very nice 'mountain'.

Once over the mountain and you are in Caerphilly town you realise what splendour is. You can also take a picture or two of Tommy Cooper's statue at the top end of the town car park. The Castle is no disappointment either, well worth a visit.

I recently took friends from the US to visit Caerphilly mountain. We parked at the Mountain snack bar for ice cream. My teenager NEEDED a burger he informed me. Everyone was happy with what they had. Even my forever hungry teenager. We walked up to the highest point and we had beautiful clear views. I was able to take some... More

Caerphilly mountain also has a castle, called Caerphilly castle. A real ruin that still has some state rooms that are worth a visit. At one end of the high street you will see a statue of Tommy Cooper as this is where he was born!

Handy car park with hut providing food. Plenty of easy walks over the common and good views. Excellent for the kids to let off steam. We were told to watch out for old mine shafts, but we didn't come across any. Nice afternoon out.

We went there literally this morning at 11am and it was a great place to go for a cheap and fulfilling breakfast. Large soft white rolls filled with either bacon, sausage, eggs, mushrooms etc or what combination you asked for ...very, very tasty and fresh. When next in Wales - let alone Caerphilly - will go again!
