There is a great holiday atmosphere in the bay with lots on offer, from a leisurely trip into the city centre by water taxi to a head-spinning blast in a fast rib. With lots of good quality restaurants and cafes, most enjoying great views, the choice is endless. We loved the variety of sculptures and statues, many thought provoking. You... More

There is a great variety of things to do and see here. Historic buildings, an amazing carousel, Welsh center, scads of restaurants, boat tours, walkways, and a real sense of a unique place to be for walking, shopping and eating. Very much a fun place. They have done a great job in taking a run down former industrial area and... More

As a Cardiff local, the Bay has blossomed into a place that I can take visitors. To see the myriad of buildings with the variety of styles, concerts in the Millennium Centre and to feel the buzz with people going to the restaurants or to attend the many events that happen in this vibrant area. An old boy I know in his mid eighties told me he was disappointed with what had been done to Cardiff bay. He maintained it's character had disappeared. He told me he preferred Cardiff bay when it was all sex ans sunken ships. Mow I dont know if I would go along with that but it is the sort of... More

I don't recommend going to Cardiff Bay for the restaurants and the shops. That sounds like a drag and they looked pretty ordinary to me. But the whole area is just so well laid-out and pleasant to walk around now. We walked around the entire enclosed Bay area (and more, up the Taff trail). Visited the Senned (stop in and... More

Although this isn't really somewhere you could spend the entire day it is definitely worth a visit. The mix of modern and traditional architecture has been done in such a way to enhance the area and complement each other. There is a lovely variety of shops there as well as some good views not to mention the Millennium Centre and... More

We found this area has been nicely developed with restaurants, bars and a few shops, but it's too small and limited to live up to its billing. The short video at the port building is excellent, however, as it really teaches the history of the "coal port" in a few minutes time. More

I enjoy bays, and sea related attractions in general. I like seeing the views of the water, the animals, and eating fresh seafood. Cardiff Bay doesn't really have any of those things. It is a very dead area of town and any commerce things are almost entirely chain sort of restaurants. I did get to see signets, which was very... More
