For Cardiff's size this is an impressive Museum and Gallery exhibiting some of the greatest Welsh art and some of the great impressionist works. Donated by the Davis sisters it holds one of Europe's best collections of Impressionist works. A definite must see when in Cardiff!

I really can't say what it's like other than when I went on Saturday 30th May 2015 and was refused entry. I went to the entrance somewhat confused as to whether I was at the entrance or not. I was stopped at the door to be told it was closed for a private Asian function. It might have helped if... More

The museum is fab, I take my niece most weekends and she has always loved it. There is so much to see and interact with and the kids attractions are always changing, the arts and craft or exhibits are kids friendly with touch pieces and all the staff are always amazing. I have been taking my niece since before she... More

Excellent exhibits, great story of Wales and it's development. Signage in both Welsh and English. Rocks, plants and animal evolution all covered. Nice section on the role earthquakes played.

I have always enjoyed visiting this museum. This week I viewed the Chalkie Davies exhibition, which was brilliant. There is something for everyone here. A great collection of Impressionist art, the natural history section is interesting too, and it's lovely to see so many children enjoying themselves while learning lots of cool new things about our world and its history.

The Natural History Section of the museum and gallery was great for the younger crowd. We were really impressed with the size of the gallery and the special collections on display. This is a "do not miss" while in Cardiff. Absolutely worth a few hours of time.

I only had an hour to spare but nipped in as the museum is free. The Impressionist room is fab and there was a wonderful photography exhibition of black and white images from the NME from the 1970's. A great way to spend an hour...however I dropped into the café but changed my mind when I saw the prices...too expensive... More

Brilliant museum. Free to see world renowned Art works. We went to see a special exhibition and found the staff both knowledgeable and helpful. Unexpected finds such as moon rock and mammoths. The beautiful building matches the quality of the exhibits. Why haven't we been before? Will certainly visit again. It's one of those museums where you would be best... More
