The locals and especially the museum staff know it as "Cardiff's Umbrella!" So if its raining outside, expect a packed experience inside. However, thanks to the extraordinary efforts of the Davies sisters, inside this glorious building packs the largest impressionist collection outside Paris. Modern accoutrements include a wonderful cafe, which is as good on a Saturday afternoon as for a... More

Probably the best art collection outside of London, dinosaurs and natural history, a great day out for the family and it's free!

This Museum is a must see whether you go for an hour or a day there are so many things of interest. We spent a great deal of time looking at the exhibits of ceramics which was totally absorbing. In addition the lay out of the exhibits in the Evolution of Wales was fascinating and clearly grabbed the interest of... More

A must if you are a visitor to Cardiff & free. Whether accompanied by children or not there is something to interest most people. A marvelous art section with paintings from many famous artists, including my own favorite Monet.

We spent our time in an exhibit on ceramics which was outstanding. This is one of the best museums I've visited.

I visited the museum today with my husband and 5 children. When we arrived we had a terrible time trying to find disabled parking near the museum, and after 20 minutes of driving round in circles we gave up and parked a long way from the museum in an ordinary space which isn't ideal as my husband needs a lot... Bit over crowded with exhibits for my liking, Disappointed with the limited display of the 'Davies Sisters' early impressionists, difficult to view in that the floor also features a number of statues. Toilets are well hidden, you need to be sharp eyed or ask an assistant.

I had been meaning to visit the museum for a couple of years, having not been since I were a child. What can I say, the exibits are excellent. Very factual and detailed. There is something for everyone as exibits range from a Natural History of Wales to an Art gallery. When I visited, they had (and still do for... More
