We only got to spend an hour here at the end of the day. As we had our daughter with us we focused on the natural history section. We enjoyed it and she loved looking at all the different animals and the dinosaurs. Me and daddy enjoyed the wooly mammoth that moved, our daughter however stated she did not like... More

We had a couple of hours to kill in Cardiff so headed off to this museum. We managed the current photography exhibition and the Impressionists section. Both were quiet considering it was a rainy day in the summer holidays. We have been to the Paris and Brussels art galleries and the paintings/sculptures here are pretty much as impressive, but without... More

This is a great location for art lovers, especially if you're a fan of French Impressionism and great sculpture. It's the place to go if you want to see Rodin's The Kiss sculpture in all its glory. Unlike other art galleries I've attended, you're allowed to photograph the art. There was a great exhibition of rock and roll photography on... More

Some top quality items and exhibitions. Some of the statues and paintings are of international quality. The building itself, one of three in a civic row is worth taking a look at. (So are the City Hall and the Crown Court - the three being the equivalent to the city of Liverpool's pier head 'Three Graces'). The entrance hall, Art... More

My husband and I were looking for somewhere to go (together) on a rainy August Saturday that wouldn't cost a fortune. Spent half of an afternoon here with family. Was an enjoyable day full of interesting pieces. It was very busy at the time but a great family friendly environment and also great for the kids to learn more about each museum aspects. Overall a worth while trip!

I have been to many famous art museums around the world, the top rated art museum is even in my home town but this free museum in Cardiff easily compares to all of them. We visited Cardiff in the spring and wandered in looking to kill some time. We were blown away by the quality of the art! If you... More

I loved this museum. I enjoyed seeing other people's enjoyment of it as much as seeing the exhibits. There is something here for all ages to enjoy. I loved the art and ceramics but my teenage son(18) was excited about the humpback whale and woolly mammoth.
