We did a tour if Cardiff Castle the day before a big NATO meeting but that didn't stop the team from giving us a grand tour. The guide was very knowledgeable and funny. We'll worth the visit.

We had originally planned to see Caerphilly Castle, but as we planned our time in Cardiff, this castle, set smack in the middle of town and 5 minutes from our B&B made much more sense. And we had a great time. The castle has much to see, and all of it was different and interesting. The Norman Keep -- old... More

With still visible parts of the old Roman fort, with excellent restoration as well, evidence of additional Norman walls, and a complete makeover - at great expense - in the 19th century (enhanced towers and interiors), this is well worth a visit. It is also quite economically priced. Don't miss the grade 1 listed walls with animals apparently trying to... More

I went for the NORMAN KEEP AND MOUND! JUST INCREDIBLE! GREAT CLIMB up there and TREMENDOUS view - just so historic and old and lovely. Was not intending to visit newer (1800s or so interior, old exterior) part but I did go and it was over the top! Looked at as individual carvings and glass etc everything was gorgeous very... More

Lots of steps, very steep! Well worth a visit, especially the air raid shelters, who knew they were there?

Spent the morning looking around the castle. Plenty to see and some great views! Free Audio guides made it interesting and the entry fee was fairly cheap too.

After being charged full price for myself, partner and son, We went in to find everything closed and no tours going on, we were not able to see much and could only walk around outside, now Cardiff Sastle is not cheap. I have previously been in my childhood and wanted to show my son, We spent 30 minutes in the... More

Restored by the Marquis of Bute, who added a more modern living quarters for his family, which the tour includes. The actual Castle has Roman Stones at its base, and was rebuilt by the Normans, on top. It also has a modern Army Museum. Tour buses outside go around about 15 sites in Cardiff.
