One reviewer didn't think Cardiff Castle was old. There are several sides to the site - the ancient, the old, and the newer. Cardiff Castle is a fun place to visit. The history is interesting and so are the rooms where the Marquess de Bute and his family lived. My 13 year old also had a great time exploring the grounds. We spent over 4 hours playing. more

The castle is in Cardiff's city center park and across the street from a trendy shopping district. The castle is immaculate, but that's probably because most of it is actually not very old.
