no great shakes as a shopping town. not to far away from Cardiff. The castle is impressive. If visiting I would advise taking food to feed the geese and duck population
Been to the centre a couple of times. The staff are very friendly and helpful and there are a good variety of brochures of the local and surrounding areas, some of which are free. The centre is only small and sometimes finding seating (particularly on a cold or rainy day) can be difficult but it has lovely elevated views of... More
The Staff at the Twyn Visitor Centre, Caerphilly, have in my opinion, listened to some of Caerphilly residents comments, about making visitors to Caerphilly and the residents welcome. Since the introduction of their light refreshments facilities, they have established a very warm and friendly service, with atmosphere. I was in there last week obtaining new information leaflets and details of... More
Undoubtedly the best caramel latte in Caerphilly but seriously? no wifi? I am travelling from out of the country and need to check in for email, etc. And I thought for sure the Visit Caerphilly Centre would offer wifi to visitors. Unimpressed - sorry.
I found the staff very helpful. We asked about the circular walks as we have only just moved to the area and were given at least 6 leaflets that were very helpful. I found the goods in the shop a tad expensive, but nearly all the visitors centres ive been in are expensive.
You can purchase local cheeses and many other products here and it is located just across from the castle in a shop with a conical roof section so you can visit and inquire about restaurants or other needs. Adjacent to town center and not far from the rail/bus station, the area is easily reached on foot.
Its right opposite the castle and has public toilets right underneath. The centre itself has a coffee shop and sells an array of gifts and crafts. It has seating both inside and out and a wide variety of free leaflets to take away, or read whilst you visit. A lovely little place!
very easy to find in the middle of a road junction outside the Castle. Very clean and tidy, also has a cafe.
