Had lunch at the Old Barn cafe which I would recommend, followed by a browse in the craft shops and then a short stroll past the RSPB shop to the Dam - Great views across the lake and valley. Drove around to the other end of the lake and followed the trail to the Rhiwargor Waterfall - an easy couple... More

The setting is beautiful. The visitors centre is well worth a visit. There is a short film playing continuously showing the construction of the dam. There are several pull in laybys during the round the lake drive, with some good views.

Lovely views & a variety of sign posted walks. A steep climb on one but then a nice stroll through countryside. There is an RSPB shop which has bird feeders outside, I have never seen so many small birds feeding so close to humans, mesmerising. Peaceful if you wish to escape the hustle and bustle & plenty of space for... More

Lovely place, very scenic and full of walks and very scenic drives. Excellent choice of cafes and a cycle hire shop onsite. Excellent place to spend a few hours in between all the other stuff North Wales has to offer!

Visited on Friday 1st August 2014, the first day of rain in weeks! However, even this couldn't spoil this beautiful place. The cafe, a must for any visit, serves lovely small meals, nothing fancy but it sets you up for a walk, and the deserts... well! They also sell lots of crafty type gifts which is a bonus. The RSPB... We have just moved to the area and this INCREDIBLE lake is only a 20 minute drive from our house. We took our dog for a lakeside walk on one of the trails and it was only for 2/3 hours but it felt like we have been on a little holiday! The lake is stunning, the paths and roads are... More
