We always love visiting Vyrnwy - helped this time by gorgeous weather. It's beautiful to drive round. The picnic area we found is great - massive wooden tables, space for the children to play & a nice little pebbly beach which we spent an hour on skimming stones. Very peaceful & lots of wildlife to watch.

Our party of four visited the Lake Vyrnwy area on June 25th 2014. It is stunningly beautiful, with so much to see, and many walks and cycle rides available. We walked around the Sculpture Park, and took lots of photo's some with the amazing Dam as a backdrop. The sculptures are incredible with so much meaning to them. Of course... More

Only a quick visit but what a wonderful place! I'd never knew it was here,so glad we found it. You can go all the way round the lake, by bicycle seems the preferred way.and there is a cafe, too.

What a lovely area, tranquil and so much natural beauty in this area, reminded me of the drive around lake Rotaiti and Rotoma just out of Rotorua in New Zealand. You can hire a canoe or bike here. Loved the tower jutting out into the lake, so picturesque.

You would be forgiven for thinking you were not in the UK here, particularly, like us, you have beautiful weather . The scenery across the lake is beyond compare and immediately seems to give you a sense of peace and tranquility. I can recommend hiring a cycle and riding the full circuit around the lake (about 11.8 miles), nice and... More

My wife and went to see the Lake and we were not disappointed, it had wonderful views and had a tranquillity about it. It is clearly a place to visit and many do so by bike and if you felt energetic after driving there then you can hire a bike locally. We only had time for short stay but were... More

I visited here today in the middle of a bike ride and it was an outstanding experience. Warm welcome outside from a female member of staff. Brilliant fast service with well priced food and drinks, apple cake was lovely. Whilst enjoying our food a male member of staff approached and took off our water bottles to refill. VERY FRIENDLY AND... More

I'm a keen cyclist and photographer and had no idea what to expect in coming here. As you turn the final corner when approaching the lake by car, your breath is taken away by the stunning sight of the old dam and Harry Potter-esque tower in the middle of the lake. You can park the car and cycle all the... More
