This delightful railway takes one from with 50 metres of the Snowdon Mountain Railway, past the Slate Museum and along the bänks of the beautiful Lake Padarn. The use of delightful 1' 11½" gauge locomotives along the former slate quarry line provides a wonderful charm. By arriving at 11 am, there is ample time to fit in both the Snowdon... More

Totally amazing , great scenery, train takes you for five miles down the track and back if you want or you can jump off and have a picnic at the picnic area and catch later train back, enjoyed the great scene of the lake, just brilliant.

Went on the train with 3 young children who really enjoyed the experience of being on a train the views were awesome and the ride was just long enough for all to stay engaged! Good fun!

very pretty route round the far side of the lake, difficult to stop along the way, this is one where you go from one end to the other almost continuously.

Just brilliant. Really don't need to say any more. The trip is relaxing, wonderful scenery, informative and helpful staff. Kept two pre-teens and a toddler happy.

What a wonderful trip out. Not only do you have a short steam train ride but there is a great slate museum to look round which is free of charge!! The train ride was I little uncomfortable as you are sitting on wooden slatted seats, still enjoyable thoug. There is a good cafe at the station too. The museum takes... More

I'm not a big train enthusiast but I did enjoy our trip round the lake. The carriages are small, it's a bit of a tight squeeze for the legs when you're sitting down if you're all tall but the ride is enjoyable. The train goes at a leisurely pace so it's easy to get lots of photos round the lake... More

Good little train ride out and back on the far side of the lake. It would have been great if the journey went all the way around the lake. Views from the carriages were lovely and would be fantastic on a clear and sunny day unlike the rainy day we had. There are café stops and a picnic area at... More

One of many famous little trains in Snowdonia and probably not the most worthwhile one to visit. It travels around one side of Lake Padarn and offers some lovely views back across the lake to Snowden in the distance. When you get to the end of the line you can't get off so you wait while the loco re-couples at... More

A nice train ride along the edge of the lake - be sure to sit on the lake side when the train is in the station as the ride is up and back along the side of the lake. Cute steam engine pulls the small carriages. Our dog enjoyed the ride as he had his head near the open window... More
