The Llanberis Lake railaway is across the road from the Swowdon Mountain railway. As its name suggest it goes around the lake past the quarry museum. Staff are friendly, prices good value and for the kiddies they love the Thomas the Tank engine looking trains. If you visit Llanberis its a lovely train ride. I recommend fully. After boarding the train with my partner and children, we were a little disappointed as it was a rather cloudy day. Whilst going up Snowdon the train provides narration over a tannoy sytstem for the passengers to listen, advising the problems experienced when constructing the railway and significantant land marks we were passing. Unfortuantely, all we could see was clouds... more

The little steam trains rumble along beside Llanberis Lake - you get to the end of the track, turn round, and come back again. I'm guessing it's about 2 miles in each direction. There's a station halfway along with a nice picnic area. The views are pleasant, the train is clean. Overall an okay little attraction and worth doing if... more
