I would like to give it 3 1/2 stars because average undersells it but very good oversells it… An intriguing little place that has the unmistakable feel of being somebody's hobby/passion that was ordered out of the family home by a spouse! "Either you find somewhere else for your collection or I'm off"...! At £17 for a family it's not... More

It's hard to imagine that this place is such a geological/paleontological treasurehouse from the road. Interesting, fascinating and particularly reasonable entry fees.

Been umpteen times and my boys aged 8 and10 still love coming here you pay once and keep your ticket then come back as many times as you want in 2week fascinating place but you have to look and read the information that is there, to actually realise what is still undiscovered and what walked the earth millions of years... Though Stone Science could do with a little modernisation I can only recommend a visit. The owners collection is very eclectic and very interesting. Sadly my own and my cousins kids grew a bit bored after a couple of hours but the adults would have happily spent alot more time here. One I shall take a solo visit to next... More

For all you people who enjoyed this place I am happy for you but for me I could not even find it my sat nav got me on the right road but I saw no sign posts at all and ended up having a day in Conwy and I won't be going back any time soon it's a shame like... More

I am writing as an amateur geology interest group facilitator, but my comments would hold true for a family outing. Nine of us, with geological knowledge ranging from nil to degree level, visited Stone Science as part of our U3A learning experience. What an experience!! David and Delyth Wilson treated us royally and amazed us with their treasury of exhibits... More

Dave is not your typical museum owner. His passion for geology is as infectious as his knowledge of fossils and the formation of rock and stone is substantial. He imparts his years of experience with enthusiasm, captivating the imagination of youngsters (and oldies!) in a way that even the best of teachers could only admire. And against this backdrop, despite... More

I have scanned through the reviews and it is interesting that all but two are really impressed with Stone Science. I think the two negatives are unjustified. I am a secondary school A Level Geology teacher, so I would hope that this is the one attraction I have some relevant experience to judge! We did have to take care finding... More

My granddaughter (5) was fascinated by this place. The beautiful mineral and fossil specimens were a source of great delight, but she learned a lot as well. For example, seeing and touching specimens or replicas of dinosaurs and their bones made her realise for the first time that these were not scarry pretend creatures but had actually once lived. And... More

I read some of the reviews on this site, and was presently suprised at the eclectic nature of this place, my six year old son has just started up an interest in fossils so this was the perfect place for him. My five year old daughter also enjoyed herself. The owner is a lovely chap who clearly has a lifelong... More
