The turist centre has moved to the Tithe Barn which also house the Tapestry woven by local ladies. It is a beautiful work of art and well worth a visit. There is also a nice cafe on site and all the staff are well informed and helpful

Really enjoyed this well lit, museum. Wonderful displays and interesting information boards. A delightful elderly lady who was part of the group of woman who created the tapestry explained how it was made and what different sections were depicting various pieces of history. Beautiful display cabinets, nice cafe downstairs. Would definitely recommend to all.

This small museum is a result of really keen and dedicated local people, with such pride in their town. There are beautiful handmade historical costumes on display, along with the huge tapestry displaying Abergavenny and it's history. There is a good airy, clean cafe, serving cakes and light lunches, sandwiches, panini's, cooked breakfasts etc. The displays in the museum are... More

Very helpful assistants on TIC desk, and clergy presence on opposite desk. Nice cafe with just the right menu choice for the type of place.

Thank you for taking the time to review the Tithe Barn. The relocation of the Tourist Information Centre has helped point people towards our wonderful facilities. Julie in the TIC has fitted in well with us at St Mary’s Priory. Our vicar Father Mark regularly greets visitors at the desk between his other duties so I’m glad between them and... More

St Marys Priory was a lovely unexpected find, when we popped into Abergavenny on our way up to Mid Wales for a short break. As well as the lovely Church, with its unique wooden carving of Jesse, the Priory also houses a small exhibition and café in the Tithe Barn. The Café is known as the Food Hall, which is... More

We stopped here for lunch on a very busy day and had the soup of the day which came with a large chunk of freshly baked bread. I believe the food is locally sourced and all looked and tasted excellent with excellent service, although it can be a little noisy but that is to be expected when busy.

Many thanks for your review. Yes we endeavour to source local food and I was glad to note that we were busy which is always a good sign. Apologies for the noise levels but these old buildings with thick walls do keep the sound enclosed. Many thanks again. Paul Thompson Manager St Mary's Priory More

We held a double birthday event at the Priory Centre last Saturday which was such a success. The assistance we had from Paul planning the event was so good, he gave us table plan and bar advice. He put us in touch with a brilliant DJ (Dale Morgan from Brynmawr) and nothing we requested was too much trouble. The food was... More

Visited here last week and were lucky enough to catch the sunshine . Our sandwich lunch was excellent; plenty of fillings and good fresh bread. The service was friendly and efficient. A wonderful find......and the church is a gem.
