I had a visit when everything was disappointing but on another visit it was all good. The service could be better, ok as a cafe but won't rush back. Some items over priced.

Having spent a few hours looking for somewhere to have a spot of lunch on a day trip to Abergavenny, came across the Tithe Barn cafe quite by chance. And what a delightful spot. Usual fare (jacket potatoes, paninis and so on) but great for veggies and good value for money. Only downer would be more outside tables needed but... More

This reconstructed barn was an excellent place to gain an insight to the history of Abergavenny. The large modern tapestry created by local women depicted scenes of the town and it's history through the centuries; this was accompanied by a talk from a very knowledgable staff member . Several interactive displays were used to illustrate the history of the Tithe... More

It's just been refurbished to include the tourist office, a cafe, then upstairs a new interactive museum about the history of the area (has some very clever interactive displays for kids) and the town tapestry on display.

The upstairs of the barn has the tapestry which is the main attraction, there is also a interactive exhibition of welsh history and religion which is very interesting. Also downstairs the information centre and cafe.

Stopped off in Abergavenny for morning coffee on our way to the Brecon Beacons. We were towing a caravan so used the spacious car park near the bus station. We walked out of the top of the car park and thought that we were in France - a beautiful building with outside seating in a square of clipped lime trees.... More

Its a great pity that it has been spoilt by using it as a Tea Room, it could have been put to better use by housing a museum and keeping all the old features

I was sorry to read you felt that we had spoilt the ethos of the building by also providing a tea room. When we were set up we hoped to follow the Benedictine belief as fits the original St Mary's Priory and provide refreshments for visitors. In this day and age of no public funding we have to offer this... More

The town was very busy, restaurants full, we happen to be returning back to car park when we discovered THE TITHE BARN IN St Marys Church. looked very inviting, so in we went. Were immediately aware of peace and tranquillity plus a very inviting coffee bar and light lunches. Staff very attentive with quality food. Was ideal for a snack... More

The turist centre has moved to the Tithe Barn which also house the Tapestry woven by local ladies. It is a beautiful work of art and well worth a visit. There is also a nice cafe on site and all the staff are well informed and helpful
