We took a six years old boy and four year old girl. They both enjoyed it. He loved the huge model railway and playing musical instruments. She loved the animals and meeting the faerie and got a beautiful face painting for £3.50. There's loads and loads of things to do and see. A top day out for the kids

Taking children anywhere is an expensive hobby, with reluctance we visited here, purchased a family ticket and entered a magical world for children, (under 10 probably best). Our two grandchildren had a wonderful day, the facilities were excellent, cafe or picnic areas, feeding the animals was obviously a highlight, everything is so well laid out, I really cant praise it... Lovely little place to take small children and very magical! My daughter loved playing and exploring the park and looking at the animals. We also received a train ride as part of our admission fee which we all enjoyed. Only let down was the little outside cafe - was very disappointed with the quality of the sandwiches for the price... I went to the gypsy wood yesterday for the last day while on an easter holiday. I knew the 4 year old would enjoy it but thought the 11 year old big might get bored. There were 5 adults and two children and we all really enjoyed the day. The train ride is good the little models of trains are... More

Although I live only 20 miles away,& have been before, took my 5 grandsons (with my son's help) a few days ago & found the attraction had improved enormously in the past 3 years. We spent a very enjoyable 2 1/2 hrs there. Took our own picnic- plenty of benches/ tables by the lake to eat. You get 1 ride... More

Took my 3 children, aged 4 and 2 and 4 months, who absolutely loved it! Plenty to do, even in the rain (if you don't mind getting a bit wet, nothing is indoors). We went in bad weather and still came away smiling! Suitable for with a pram as there is a slate path most of the way round. There... More

There is plenty to do especially in fine weather, but not the best for children if cold or wet as there is little indoor space or activities (except for the café.
