We had passed Inigo Jones on our way to Porthmadog and were keen to visit while we were in the area. It was so much fun! The slate tour with a headset guides you round the workshops and historical bits and bobs related to the slate industry and you can see how the products are made. This is a working... More

My wife, children and I visited Inigo Jones slate works while on holiday in the area and we are so glad we did, Entry to the self guided is £19 for a family ticket (2 adults, 2 children). After paying the entry fee you are given a small audio device and headphones which guide you round the slate works. After... More

Two of us went to visit and had a lovely 'slate tour', starting with a film explaining about slate then following the audio tour at a leisurely pace asking questions of the workers as we went. Everyone was pleasant and engaging and the whole process is fascinating. We had a go at calligraphy ( not too bad ) and engraving... More

Slate garden ornaments, household ornaments and useful items at a very good price. Has a 'slate' tour with video etc but didn't go on this.

We spent a super afternoon in this little gem of a museum. The kids loved the quiz and the walk around tour with headphone sets. We loved the history of the slate works and the hands-on experience of calligraphy and slate engraving. Well worth a visit!

Lovely place to stop and enjoy some real craftsmanship. Loved breakfast at the café too. Would probably have stayed longer and seen more outside if it hadn't been so cold.

We popped in here on a whim. We were warmly welcomed and had an enjoyable time. The tour is via headsets so you can take as long or short as you need, going back if you want to/miss things. There is a quiz for kids which was achievable. The draw (excuse the pun) was the final workshop where you can... More

We popped in here to buy some mementoes. The dog was allowed in - a bonus. The lady in the shop was very polite and knowledgable. A real credit to the shop. We then ventured to the cafe for a cooling drink - it is fair to say the the staff there were the absolute opposite in all ways. I... More
