Very interesting there is a 10 min film show regarding the history of the slate worls and you have an audio talk as you walk around the various work rooms, you also have the opportunity to engrave a piece of slate which you keep

Visited this delightful place on bus tour, very interesting, items to buy not too expensive. Also had a train ride along the coastline which lasted about 1/2 hour, plenty of eating places and wc facilities, all clean. It was very busy the day we arrived and the sun was shining, hottest week of the year in Wales when we visited.

Not the best experience. They charge the same for a non guided tour. We went on a Sunday and this meant no guide on so we had to do a self tour. There really is not much to see for the £5 entry which I feel should be reduced for self guided tours.

Just to clarify the tour of the workshops is always a self guded tour whatever day of the week you visit us More

The visit to see how the slate mines have been mined and how slate is processed tour. Then purchase anything you could imagine in slate from place mats, coasters, clocks - the list is endless - must visit if in Snowdonia !!!

Interesting little place telling the story of slate. The tour is "self guided" you are given a headset to listen to as you walk round. It was probably the best £5 I spent whilst in Wales. You even get the chance to carve your own little bit of slate. Brilliant!

This second visit to the Slate works has been a delight compared to the first one, a lot of innovations and improvements. They promote some local artists who paint and work with Slate and tey are really full of talent, though perhaps not to everyones taste (not mine anyway, but I can appreciate the work involved and the attention to... Before christmas, I visited Inigo Jones with the aim of ordering a slate plaque for a recently constructed building of ours. As I've been born and raised locally I hoped to support a local business by purchasing this plaque from Inigo Jones. I rang before going and the lady on the phone was pleasant and polite, however, when I arrived... More

We have investigated your comments and respond as follows. You called at our works and asked us to look at a piece of your own slate ( not a new slate plaque) and asked if we could engrave on it. We inspected same and said we could and gave you a price for it. You said you had had a cheaper... More

The people couldn't have been nicer or more helpful, the prices were very nice in the gift shop but I just couldn't help thinking on the self-guided tour: this is just a bunch of slate.

Easy to find and well signposted with brown attraction road signs. Spotted a square slate door stop design in the shop that was for us, but only one was left, no problem for Inigo Jones and Co. They made what we needed for us to collect and pay for when we were on the way home later in the week.... More
