Really enjoyable couple of hours spent learning about Welsh slate. Great fun attempting slate engraving and nice gift shop. Certainly entertained an 8 and 14 year old :) Sadly, cafe not quite as good, service was slow. Needs to serve a table at a time rather than bring each meal when it's ready with long gap in between. Each meal... More

Feel in love with some slate products whilst in Wales and dicided a visit to the workshop was a must. Completed the tour and even had a go at carving into slate myself. After a dreadful attempt by myself, I appreciated the work that goes into making the products. The tour offered a brilliant insight into the process and history.... More

Great place to stop on the Lôn Eifionydd cycle route (part of the National Cycle route). Very friendly staff, great jacket potatoes and marvellous cuppa. Will definitely cycle this way again for a cafe stop here.

One is given a very good insight into a Welsh Slate works. Also there is a lovely showroom with a fine display of items produced from slate and priced to suit all pockets. A visitor to Inigo Jones slate works, outside Caernarfon, must visit the Welsh Rock Cafe on the grounds, plenty of parking available, and enjoy the selection of... More

We didn't go on the tour of the workshops due to lack of time, we stopped in the hope of finding slate items to buy. What a lovely surprise the gift shop was, full of interesting items, displayed to do the products justice. Made several purchases, prices are reasonable and the staff very friendly. Very pleased with my slate products... More

Very interesting there is a 10 min film show regarding the history of the slate worls and you have an audio talk as you walk around the various work rooms, you also have the opportunity to engrave a piece of slate which you keep

Visited this delightful place on bus tour, very interesting, items to buy not too expensive. Also had a train ride along the coastline which lasted about 1/2 hour, plenty of eating places and wc facilities, all clean. It was very busy the day we arrived and the sun was shining, hottest week of the year in Wales when we visited.

Not the best experience. They charge the same for a non guided tour. We went on a Sunday and this meant no guide on so we had to do a self tour. There really is not much to see for the £5 entry which I feel should be reduced for self guided tours.
