Travelling on the Vale of Rheidol Railway is the finest way to see the stunning Rheidol Valley. We pass through wide open fields, woodland and rugged mountain scenery as the line twists and turns clinging to the hillside gradually climbing nearly 700ft (200m)from Aberystwyth to reach our destination at Devil’s Bridge. Birds of prey such as Red Kite and Buzzards are regularly seensoaring high above the valley floor and breathtaking views can beenjoyed by all.

Good enthusiastic staff, train delightful, journey through Vale of Rheidol spectacular where else can you look out over a valley and look down at a Red Kite circling and hunting for its dinner?

We took the return trip from Devil's Bridge and it takes an hour each way through the most beautiful welsh countryside. I would thoroughly recommend this.

All the way along the route the view are just stunning. Its a great way to get to Devil's bridge or just for a day out on the rail. The route takes you along the cliff edge and the views down the valley are amazing. If you do sit outside be aware the smoke will contain some bits of ash... More

I travelled on the return journey for the second time, this time running a daytrip for people with limited mobility, the help we received to get people out of wheelchairs and onto the train was excellent. It was a lovely ride with great views. The Devils Bridge side was well catered for by two cafes and a close look at... More

I have visited a few times recently since my previous review as it is a great day out and easy to do by rail. This visit was made with my partner and his Jack Russell. We then met up with two friends of his who were staying locally. I can't add much more to the review of the railway. It's... More

Thanks for your review - thrilled to hear you enjoyed your visit again and were able to see the developments we've made in recent years. I've passed on your praise to the team, including the folks at Two Hoots Cafe in Devil's Bridge. Do come and see us again before too long. More

Open carriages were great but you will need a shower after you get back if you sit in them on the way to Devils bridge but not on the return journey when the engine is at the other end of the train next to the closed carriages

Many thanks for your review. Indeed our open sided summer cars are very popular and unfortunately some there may be some coal smuts from the loco during the climb up to Devil's Bridge. More
