Some of the best events I have been to have been held here, food fairs, and concerts but in particular the Halloween and Christmas Grotto in the round theatre are brilliant, really popular. Its just a shame that they don't hold more events - they would have more visitors then, without the events the garden is nice to go to... more

In answer to a previous review - as a regular visitor to the National Botanic Garden of Wales I have seen the help that is given to wheelchair users and the less mobile. Electric buggies will take you to the main points of interest, if necessary. There is a wheelchair-friendly restaurant at the top of the Garden, and a cafe... more

Yesterday I attempted to treat my 100 year old Nan to a visit to the National Botanic Garden of Wales but we left disappointed. It is unbelievable that in this day and age (and with public and lottery funding), wheelchair - users are unable to actually get into the building. Despite their being plenty of 'disabled' parking spaces, there is... more

Visited gardens on Saturday Sept 26th. Decided to join the guided walk of the nature reserve. Guide Jennifer Pitts was very good, and showed photographs of flowers that grew on different parts of the reserve----If we had come earlier in the year we would have seen them growing. Drew our attention to the scenery, Paxtons tower looked majestic when viewed... more

Went to the National Botanic Garden of Wales last week (11th September 2009). We loved the whole of the Garden experience, the children really enjoyed being let loose in the willow play area. The Great Glasshouse has certainly developed over the last several years. Perhaps the management could consider childrens pricing - children under 14 travelling with adults to be... more

I visited the National Botanic Gardens on the weekend (Sat 12th September). My overall experience of the 'Garden' was a good one there is no doubt about that. I enjoyed exploring the whole of the Middleton House Estate and the 'Great Glasshouse' is spectacular! BUT..... We decided to visit the restaurant at lunchtime. There was a big queue but we... more

Had a lovely morning in the gardens, went for lunch and was extremely disappointed. We ordered "cawl" and got a rather sickly soup. Considering the garden is smack bang in the heart of welsh Wales I would have thought that they knew what cawl was. Quite expensive to go in and would have liked more for young children. Otherwise a... more
