Description:

Step into what remains of a secret wartime air base, now our Visitor...

Step into what remains of a secret wartime air base, now our Visitor Centre, where thousands of people lived and worked in the 1940s. Walk through a masterpiece in landscape design, which is 'Capability' Brown's very first, which has been painstakingly restored for over 18 years from what was once a lost and overgrown 18th century parkland. Explore the park and lakeside to find out what conservation project we're working on this year.

Find Croome Court, the home of the Earls of Coventry, at the heart of the park which has been patiently waiting for its revival. Its time has come this year as the faded house is repaired and reserviced to be able to open up all four floors in 2016. This year explore two floors of un-restored spaces, see what the builders are working on and climb the scaffold for a cup of tea on Sky Cafe.

This spectacular house has massive grounds that you can spend all day exploring the exciting sculpture that was created by Capability Brown. The house itself is steeped in history, not only is the house a Victorian building from the outside, it has a previous house within the Victorian exterior! Due to degradation of some exterior walls, there is a lot... More

Croome has a double history and the National Trust do a splendid job of conveying both. The House and Grounds of Croome date back to the 18th Century and are both splendid. We did the walk to the house which took us past the Ice House, the Bird Hide and the Summer House, all of which fascinated my 4 year... More

This Nat Trust property is particularly good for dog owners. There is a huge fenced section where dogs can be let off the lead. Elsewhere in the very extensive grounds dogs are welcome on leads. I have not been inside however

I would like to offer a huge thanks to Lucy Hadley and her team. Following an email, my family had our own personal tour of the house. This really made my Mother's Day and I can not thank the staff there enough. What superb work is going on there and how kind of all of you to offer us your... More

I came to Croome with some family friends as I have an interest in Capability Brown. I didn't expect to enjoy the house as much as I did! The grounds are (of course) amazing and brilliantly well kept. The house is still being fixed so only the ground floor and basement are open, but they have been renovated to a... More

This park and house provided us with such an amazing experience far and above what we were led to expect from the publicity and summary on the NT leaflet. It was awe inspiring to see the bones of such an historic house and to see the restoration in progress. The parkland provided beautiful vistas and walks. We spent far longer... More

The park is a delightful place for a walk. The grounds are impressive and have been well restored with much new planting. The paths follow the various ponds which were created as part of the original estate. There are various places to sit and enjoy the views. The house is in course of restoration and does not have the usual... More
