Description: Step into what remains of a secret wartime air base, now our Visitor...
Step into what remains of a secret wartime air base, now our Visitor Centre, where thousands of people lived and worked in the 1940s. Walk through a masterpiece in landscape design, which is 'Capability' Brown's very first, which has been painstakingly restored for over 18 years from what was once a lost and overgrown 18th century parkland. Explore the park and lakeside to find out what conservation project we're working on this year. Find Croome Court, the home of the Earls of Coventry, at the heart of the park which has been patiently waiting for its revival. Its time has come this year as the faded house is repaired and reserviced to be able to open up all four floors in 2016. This year explore two floors of un-restored spaces, see what the builders are working on and climb the scaffold for a cup of tea on Sky Cafe.

At the time of our visit Croome was undergoing major renovation work and part of the work involved uncovering the history of the building. The house is a 16th century house that had a facelift in the 17th century and is described as one house within another as new walls/windows etc were built over the existing house. We joined the... Lots to see and do. Long walk from car park to house. Nice cafe. Toilet facilities. Hard to find, even with a sat nav, but lovely countryside round there if you do get lost. Fabulous gardens.

We stopped off at this National trust property on our way back from the southwest to the East Midlands. The gardens were designed by Capability Brown and also some of the garden buildings were designed by Robert Adam, so there is a lot of interest just in the grounds alone, and we went for a nice walk and sight-seeing tour... We visited Croome Park yesterday. Lovely walk through park to Croome Court. Went via the Ice House and Rotunda. Climbed the scaffolding via a proper staircase and what glorious views from the top. Cafe at top with seating inside and out, but a little windy to sit outside. After descending visited the house which is well worth a visit, you... More

With the grass parking areas being very wet the parking attendants certainly worked hard to manage the parking. A great effort and not a lot of damaged grass. But on with the visit - plenty to do for all the family with egg hunts and trails. We walked down to the huse passing the rotunda on the way At the... More

We visited the lovely grounds of Croome Park during Easter Sunday, and although it was obviously very busy, the grounds never felt overcrowded. We paid for entry to the grounds only, although you could also purchase entrance to the house and walled gardens at extra cost (as we did not visit either the house or walled gardens I cannot comment... Thank you so much for your wonderful comments! We have made a real effort to still have the house open as much as possible during the repair and I'm really pleased to read you enjoyed the scaffolding and Sky Cafe. More

Had a great time in an extremely busy park on a lovely warm spring day. 5 and 4 year old enjoyed the egg trail but also enjoyed exploring the grounds. The cafe at the top of the scaffolding was a great idea, although we didn't stay long as it was a bit much for my husband is scared of heights!... More

Thank you for your comment and I'm glad you and your family enjoyed the Easter trail. We had a very busy Easter, but I hope we got through any queues quickly! Good news is that we are putting more well signposted picnic benches in the Wild Walk just beyond the visitor centre as there isn't much room at the front... More

We went when there was an open market, shame really as it wasn't as big as I thought or hoped it would have been. There was two tents with max six store holders there. Different range of items ranging from different prices. Managed to buy a few bits you wouldn't get else where. We went and had a bacon roll... More

This national trust property pulled out all the stops on Easer Saturday. Creative parking as the place was full! Queues at the cafes which were dealt with swiftly and a fun Easter Egg Hut, keeping children entertained. The House is becoming more Intersing each time we visit and the scaffolding visit with the roof top cafe is inspired! Well don't... More

Thank you so much for your review about your visit on Easter Saturday. It has made us all smile as we were all exhausted after the four days, but reviews like this make it all worth while! Our General Manager was particularly pleased about your 'creative' car parking comment as he was out there for three days doing it! More

A great NT property for younger children/ We didn't do the Egg Challenge as we had been advised it was long walk, met a family that had taken two hours to do it as the walk back up was a battle. great eating facilities, baby change
