Description: Step into what remains of a secret wartime air base, now our Visitor...
Step into what remains of a secret wartime air base, now our Visitor Centre, where thousands of people lived and worked in the 1940s. Walk through a masterpiece in landscape design, which is 'Capability' Brown's very first, which has been painstakingly restored for over 18 years from what was once a lost and overgrown 18th century parkland. Explore the park and lakeside to find out what conservation project we're working on this year. Find Croome Court, the home of the Earls of Coventry, at the heart of the park which has been patiently waiting for its revival. Its time has come this year as the faded house is repaired and reserviced to be able to open up all four floors in 2016. This year explore two floors of un-restored spaces, see what the builders are working on and climb the scaffold for a cup of tea on Sky Cafe.

We visited Croome on the way home from our holiday and found it immensely interesting - perhaps the museum was a bit of a long walk through for younger people but all the same it was enlightening to see how things were done, more interesting than in a lecture at school. The church was superb and we met a genleman... More

We visited last week simply because we were passing!!! When we arrived we were surprised to find that it seemed by the number of cars that the world and his wife and children were also there! I know its silly but I really liked the car park attendants pointing out the way to go with huge foam fingers!!!! We didn't... More

The NT provide deck chairs to let you relax and enjoy the views over the grounds. Currently a roof top café atop the scaffolding gives good views over the countryside. Inside the renovation gives an idea of how the place was put together. The RAF museum gives an interesting insight, with old films, of the development of airborne radar etc.

We visited this place before all the renovatins began and loved it!! We have periodically gone back, as we live in Worcestershire, and are always impressed at the place. The house is a maze of wonder and history. The Krishner rooms are beautifully colourful. Whilst below ground are remanants of when it was used as a boys school. The grounds... More

What a place. History through the ages and a secret history during WW2 as well. Enter the grounds and the first exhibit is the RAF museum with its fascinating history of radar development during WW2 to the 1980's. Then a walk though the ground to the church, housemaid capability Brown designed landscape. The National Trust are in the process of... More

At present don't expect a 'grand mansion' with antique furniture & artwork in the rooms as you'll be disappointed. What you will find in a house undergoing restoration so expect some rooms to be closed on certain days as restoration progresses. Saying that I understand that at least some of the houses furniture etc. is returning next year after storage... More

Croome house is undergoing a big renovation programme but parts were open and the guides were knowledgeable about the areas. I was an interesting experience going up the scaffold to the sky cafe, with great views of the surrounding countryside. There is plenty of space in the grounds. We had lunch in the cafe on arrival, the food was good... More

We spent a whole, sunny day at Croome - there was so much to fascinate us! the RAF museum is so well done and I am really glad the National Trust had the vision to save and restore these huts. The parklands are superb, the old house is gradually being brought back to life but there are plenty of opportunities... More

If the event wasn't free then it would have cost us £27.50 to get in to basicly walk around a small wood, a lake, some fields & a near empty unfurnished house. The kids go quiet often with their grandparents & enjoy it. I had never been before this summer & have now been to both the reading challenge events... More

Croome is a lovely place with great facilities. A great place to take children, with an adventure playground, a den making area, a woodland trail, and lots of space for running around. Both the shop and the restaurant are an added bonus.
