Description: Step into what remains of a secret wartime air base, now our Visitor...
Step into what remains of a secret wartime air base, now our Visitor Centre, where thousands of people lived and worked in the 1940s. Walk through a masterpiece in landscape design, which is 'Capability' Brown's very first, which has been painstakingly restored for over 18 years from what was once a lost and overgrown 18th century parkland. Explore the park and lakeside to find out what conservation project we're working on this year. Find Croome Court, the home of the Earls of Coventry, at the heart of the park which has been patiently waiting for its revival. Its time has come this year as the faded house is repaired and reserviced to be able to open up all four floors in 2016. This year explore two floors of un-restored spaces, see what the builders are working on and climb the scaffold for a cup of tea on Sky Cafe.

Called into Croome whilst travelling back to Bristol. A lot work is being carried out on the house and so limited access. The Sky Cafe on top of the scaffold is a novel thing, good views across the park. The park is lovely and the walks are amazing, coupled with a surprise RAF Radar Museum all added unto a nice... There is loads to do at Croome. Massive Capability Brown designed parkland, loads of walks, kids can run off steam, play hide and seek, climb trees etc, restoration underway at the house and loads of smaller buildings to find around the grounds, kids play area and natural play area for den building etc. Add the usual National Trust cafes (including... Great place to visit - couldn't move for people eager to help. It is obviously work in progress and we will be back to see how it goes. Lovely walk through the grounds. The restoration work is really impressive.

We are a group of 4 adults visiting Croome on Bank holiday weekend, there was so much going on. Birds of Prey, walk the scaffolding & also a performance of Croome Encounters a interactive physical theatre. A story of a young boy arriving at St Joseph's school for boys. The actors were so good we really had a great time... More

I'm really glad to hear you had a great time at Croome. I hope you visited the walled garden which is looking stunning at the moment. The walled garden (Europe's largest!) is privately owned by a couple who bought it in 2000 and have restored it with their own funds and lots of love and dedication. We ask that visitors... More

The volunteers were most knowledgeable and friendly. Most of the morning was spent in the RAF museum, which has details of the life of the WW2 RAF base and the links with RRE in Malvern. We had a good lunch in the restored RAF mess which was followed by a walk around the gardens and estate. Definitely a place for... More

I'm sorry to read you didn't have an interesting or fun time at Croome - I'm wondering whether you came to do our half-term trail which would have entertained your children all around the parkland. Also, you can try out the '50 Things' challenges of which we are one of the best places to be able to tick off the... More

Went for a wander round the really pretty grounds. Able to go inside the house, which is beautiful and still being renovated. Had a coffee and cake in the cafe too, overall very nice day out.

Croome is a fine parkland estate that the National Trust is restoring to its former glory. The gardens are a delight to walk around with a backdrop of the Malvern Hills. We visited at Easter and an Easter Egg hunt was available for the children, which kept their interest throughout. We did not go into the house which is also being restored,... More
