Description: Step into what remains of a secret wartime air base, now our Visitor...
Step into what remains of a secret wartime air base, now our Visitor Centre, where thousands of people lived and worked in the 1940s. Walk through a masterpiece in landscape design, which is 'Capability' Brown's very first, which has been painstakingly restored for over 18 years from what was once a lost and overgrown 18th century parkland. Explore the park and lakeside to find out what conservation project we're working on this year. Find Croome Court, the home of the Earls of Coventry, at the heart of the park which has been patiently waiting for its revival. Its time has come this year as the faded house is repaired and reserviced to be able to open up all four floors in 2016. This year explore two floors of un-restored spaces, see what the builders are working on and climb the scaffold for a cup of tea on Sky Cafe.

The National Trust are in the process of doing the property up. There is a lot of scaffolding surrounding the property. But do not let this put you off. I have visited this as it is now and will go back and see the finished Court. Rooms are having a make over and it is a shame that the tapestry... More

Good bits, bad bits. Signage to the venue was virtually non-existent. Site interesting with lovely walks, but the house itself not outstanding. Take a picnic as the food in the main "canteen" and the sky cafe, was not a patch on other NT venues and expensive for what it was, plus the staff could do with a little customer care... More

Lovely walks ......if there were not swarms of kids. House was full of kids running around - inside and out, with numerous rooms given over to kids activities.....shoe making, build a house etc. Why doesn't the NT just turn their houses into theme parks ? House was being repaired and covered in scaffolding........could have been interesting had everything not been... More

I'm sorry to see you didn't mix well with our family visitors over the weekend. We had a large family event on Saturday called the Summer Reading Challenge which was advertised on our website. We work in partnership with the Reading Agency and the local library service for these annual events and they are very popular. Croome was very busy... More

This NT site is one that is ever changing with the grounds now being returned to the vision Capability Brown had as this was one of his first projects, The new chinese bridge is stunning and the path round the lake is a lovely walk. The house is being refurbished and major work is underway. The roof is due to... More

Extensive grounds to wander in. The house is undergoing major conservation work and it was so interesting to be able to be able to look round during this time and see what was being done. We had an optional guided tour (no extra charge) which was really informative and added another dimension to our visit. We look forward to re-visiting... More

We were lucky enough to participate in a group visit which included tours of both the house and of the park and, although we had visited both before, we learned a good deal more about both with our expert guides. The house and the adjoining Red Wing are both shrouded in scaffolding and despite undergoing extensive building work, there is... More

Croome is a very beautiful place. The old cafe and church are beautiful as are the gardens and lake. The house is currently being worked on and once this has been completed, Croome will be one of the jewles in the crown of the National Trust. The hill on the way back from the house is a bit of killer... More

The NT have worked wonders at this property. Living locally we have visited Croome many times, and on each occasion there has been a noticable improvement. From the upgrade of the restaurant, to the work on the garden borders, the grotto, and the main building, now with a cafe on the roof via steps up the scaffolding. On our latest... More

If you are visiting Worcestershire you must put Croome Court on your list of places to visit. The park is large and very well kept and the walks around the lake etc should not be missed. This is also a wonderful area for picnic. The house restoration although ongoing can be seen and also you can join in if feeling... More

Interesting history of boom to bust of the original owner. The national trust have embarked on a huge task of renovating this huge house and making some advances. Would like to see it when complete but there is enough there to get a feel of its original opulence, along with the help of the obviously passionate staff.
