We visited Elgar's birthplace museum on a sunny day in June. The staff/volunteers were very welcoming and knowledgeable and the visitor centre was interesting but my favourite was the little birthplace cottage and lovely garden. Walk down to the bottom of the garden to see a life size sculpture of Elgar sitting on a bench looking out over the wonderful... More

A good place to learn more about Elgar's life and music. Very nice garden, house and visitor centre. The statue of Elgar on a bench in the garden is great fun.

Lovely little place, a pice of history for a great Englishman. If you know Elgar's music, and even the most non musical person will have heard some of his music, to visit his birthplace house was a treat.

You don't have to be a music lover to enjoy this museum with its fine rural setting and secluded garden. The memorabilia relating to the composer including photos, his writing desk, even doodles made on newspapers give a real sense of the man behind the music. you can listen to his works on headphones as you take the audio tour.... Lovely small cottage with photos and interesting exhibits. We were lucky to be there on a quiet day therefore making it an enjoyable and peaceful experience. The cottage garden was beautifully presented and loved the life size sculpture of Elgar. The staff were very friendly and would certainly visit again.

The house where Elgar was born is still intact and contains many interesting items surrounded by fantastic gardens. The visitors centre shows a ten minute film about his life. There is also static displays and the usual shop.

Since my previous visit a few years ago this museum has improved its presentation. The cottage itself remains charming and the garden was delightfully full of spring bulbs. The new (to me) statue of Elgar seemed sadly misplaced. He stares at a hedge rather than the Malvern Hills. Let him gaze at the cottage or the garden! The adjacent exhibition... More

We visited on a lovely March morning. Good video presentation and exhibits. The garden is a lovely spot to rest on a sunny day, the staff very helpful. The cottage has steep stairs not suitable to ascend if you have walking problems, but still well worth a visit.
