My wife and I visited the museum whilst staying in the area on holiday. We found the museum to be very informative via the information boards and display items on show from Elgars life. The audio option with headphones was a great addition. Elgars house was very quaint and the garden beautiful although spoilt abit by the wet weather. We... More

My husband and I travelled up from Bristol on the M5 for a day trip to visit this museum and it was well worth it. There is good car parking outside the museum. The museum wasn't too busy and staff were very helpful. The video about the life of Elgar is worth a watch. The audio guides were excellent and... More

We arrived early and spent 20mins enjoying the ambience of the orchard sitting in the sun.The staff were very friendly and helpful and we watched a video and read the information before strolling in the garden on this beautiful sunny day.The house is very interesting, lots of facts.I love Elgar music and had a coffee enjoying the music before purchasing CDs.We... We visited on beautiful sunny day. The museum was not too busy so there was plenty of room to explore the exhibits. You can have free audio guides on loan and folding seats to borrow if you want to rest on during your visit. You can watch a video which tells the life of Elgar. There is also an interesting... Thanks to the interpretive centre there is a lot to see and learn about the great composer. Actually just travelling there means you go through his countryside and get an understand why he produced the music he did. Just remember it was not his home but his birthplace, but at least it still stands and is being preserved. Something that... More

Enjoyed seeing the house - his birthplace but not enough to warrant more than a short visit. The lack of a restaurant was disappointing and there was only a very basic set of refreshments available. The venue could be developed further.

Interesting displays about Elgar and a pretty country garden. At the bottom of the garden is a statue of Elgar

For an Elgar lover, this place is practically heavenly! The artefacts and information is brilliantly laid out; simple but effective. There is also the opportunity it listen to extracts of Elgar's music whilst reading, which was wonderful. The gardens around the actual birthplace are lovely and fragrant, and it was great to see a seated bronze statue of the great... More

A wonderful, informative place whether you are an Elgar fan or not. There is lots to see and take in and there are plenty of places for photo opportunities. An audio tour is available and this is free for paying visitors, entry is approximately £7.00 per adult. There are toilets and snacks/drink available to purchase on site. Collapsible stools are... For lovers of Elgar and music....or anyone interested in anything. Beautifully kept. Not in central Cheltenham, but easy to get to.
